  • Publication number: 20030181097
Abstract: A connector includes a connector body and bases formed on the lower surface of the connector body. When the connector is fixed to a printed board, a part of each base or the lower surface of the connector body contacts the surface of the printed board in accordance with the thickness of the board. Therefore, the connector can be fixed to any one of printed boards having different thicknesses with common fixing pins.

  • Patent number: 6477308
Abstract: The present invention concerns an optical waveguide device having a structure for effectively suppressing variation in optical characteristics due to temperature change without causing increase in device size, and a fabrication method thereof. The optical waveguide device has a structure in which a first main member having a positive coefficient of linear expansion is fixed to a sub member having a negative coefficient of linear expansion. The first main member is provided with an undercladding, a core functioning as an optical waveguide provided on a plane of the undercladding, and an overcladding provided so as to cover the core between the undercladding and the overcladding. The first main member is made, for example, of a silica glass or silicon based material and the core is doped with a dopant for increasing the refractive index. While covering the whole of at least one major surface of the first main member, the sub member is fixed to the major surface.

  • Patent number: 6457980
Abstract: A connector housing (1) of a connector (1) is constituted by a lower housing (7), which is mounted on a printed circuit board (2), and an upper housing (8) connected to the lower housing (7) in such a manner as to be able to perform shifting movement with respect the housing (7). Further, terminals (6) are provided in such a way as to penetrate through a partitioning wall portion (8a) of the upper housing (8) and through a connecting block portion (7b) of the lower housing (7). At that time, tapered holes (7d) are provided in the connecting block portion (7b). The terminals (6) are maintained in a state in which a bending deformation thereof caused by the shifting movement of the upper housing (8) is allowed. Consequently, when the connector (1) is connected to the mating connector (3), the connectors (1, 3) can be connected to each other by performing the shifting movement of the upper housing (8) thereby to concurrently absorb the positional displacement therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6254408
Abstract: A plug-in connecting structure where a first unit, on an outer surface of which a first connector housing is installed, and a second unit, on an outer surface of which a second connector housing is installed, are connected electrically with each other by connecting the connector housings with each other, simultaneously with the mechanical connection of the units with a certain support being as a guide. When advancing toward a connecting portion of the second connector housing, a connecting portion of the first unit automatically aligns its center axis with a center axis of the connecting portion of the second connector housing, with being guided by a tapered surface. The first and second connector housings are never forcibly connected with each center axis thereof remaining offset from each other.

  • Patent number: 4553674
Abstract: A casing construction including a left post and a right post, each of the left post and the right post being large in width and formed at its front surface with a mounting portion for mounting a plurality of shelves in a plurality of vertically arranged layers, at its rear surface with a mounting portion for mounting a back board, a mounting portion at its upper end for mounting a ceiling board and a mounting portion at its lower end for mounting a floor board. The left post and right post having a variety of functions to perform have the shelves, back board, ceiling board and floor board threadably connected thereto. In this casing construction, the left post and right post perform the function of separating the shelves from cables. A plurality of such casings can be arranged in side-by-side relation to provide a series of casings depending on the size of the electronic equipment intended.
