The second write head a narrow writing write head comprising a second main pole, a trailing gap, a second trailing shield, and one or more side shields. The first main pole has a shorter height and a greater width than the second main pole. The second main pole has a curved or U-shaped surface disposed adjacent to the trailing gap. The thermal fly height control element and the at least one read head are aligned with a center axis of the second main pole of the second write head.

A live-aggregate projection (LAP) is defined on the FT of the database. The LAP corresponds to the aggregate column and physically materializes the aggregation of the selected denormalized column over the selected denormalized column, as defined by the aggregate column. The FT is refreshed on-demand, on a per-column, per-partition basis. Responsive to the FT being refreshed on-demand, the LAP is automatically refreshed.

The system may include systems and methods to evacuate the manifold such as purging with compressed or ambient air, or a syringe or drain valve mechanism. The system may be heated by a heating device such as a PTC heater, a resistive wire, or a low current coil. The system may provide a track or line to recirculate the fluid. These systems and methods may be incorporated into any portion of the system and in any combination. The systems and methods may be actuated by a mechanical or electrical switch that turns on based on direct pressure as a result of expanding or freezing fluid, in response to input by a temperature, pressure, or other sensor, or in response to automated or user input.
