  • Patent number: 6681965
Abstract: The present invention 10 discloses a method of forming a decorative artificial bow using wire border ribbon 22 in strip form either in rolls or otherwise whereby the user may cut the ribbon in lengths according to the bow size required. The length of wire border ribbon 22 is laid out so as to form four loop members 16 on each respective side having opposing distal ends and joined together at the center. The loop members 16 are secured by means of a metal wire retainer 24 securing the center of the folded ribbon, forming the bow. Using a scissor, both distal ends of the ribbon are cut to form a “V” shaped end 26 and the second set of loop members from the bottom portion of the ribbon are also cut to form “V” shaped ends 28. The loop members are rearranged to create a pleasing flower-like design. Using a glue gun 32, a self-adhering tag 36 is fixedly attached to the bottom portion of the bow.

  • Patent number: 6638100
Abstract: An electrical connector for terminating flat cable of the type having a plurality of signal and ground conductors in parallel alignment comprises a housing which holds a plurality of signal contacts and a ground bus. Each of the signal contacts has a signal conductor termination slot configured for insulation displacement termination of a respective said signal conductor. The ground bus has a plurality of ground conductor termination slots each configured for insulation displacement termination of a respective said ground conductor, and at least one bypass slot configured to permit at least one of said signal conductors to pass through said ground bus without termination thereto. The signal conductor termination slots, the ground conductor termination slots and the at least one bypass slot are arranged such that the plurality of signal and ground conductors reside in a common plane in the connector after termination thereto.

  • Publication number: 20030169581
Abstract: A receptacle assembly includes a guide frame having a front end with an opening to an interior cavity of the guide frame. The front end is configured to receive a module assembly; and an EMI gasket is secured to an edge of the opening. The EMI gasket includes at least one conductive strap extending along a length of the edge, and the conductive strap covers a substantial majority of the edge to form a shielded EMI interface along the edge. A continuous conductive collar is provided on peripheral edges surrounding the opening. The collar is configured to form an uninterrupted and continuous EMI shielding interface with a bezel.

  • Publication number: 20030171033
Abstract: A receptacle assembly includes a guide frame having a front end with an opening to an interior cavity of the guide frame. The opening is configured to receive a module assembly. The guide frame has a bottom with a bottom opening to the interior cavity, and the bottom is configured to be joined to a circuit board. An EMI gasket is provided along at least a portion of a perimeter of the bottom opening to be held between the guide frame and a circuit board. The EMI gasket forms a shielded interface along the portion of the perimeter of the bottom opening. Conductive straps are provided along the leading edge of the opening and have widths sufficient to cover a substantial majority of the leading edge to form a shielded interface along the leading edge. An EMI gasket including a skirt extending partially along a portion of the perimeter of the bottom opening is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6394819
Abstract: The invention is directed to a dielectric member interposed between two electrical components which have different coefficients of thermal expansion (CTEs). The dielectric member has conductive traces for electrically connecting the electrical components. The traces may be joined by solder balls to a printed circuit board. The dielectric member may include reservoirs for locating the solder balls and receiving solder after reflow of the solder balls. Adhesive layers may be used for bonding the traces to the dielectric member. The dielectric member is made of a material having a selected CTE value which minimizes the CTE mismatch at the electrical interface and effectuates absorption of the thermal expansion and contraction of the system. Stresses induced by thermal expansion and contraction at the electrical interface are thereby reduced, preventing problems such as fractured solder joints.

  • Patent number: 6142798
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a cap housing for carrying electrical connectors to be mounted onto solder pads or through-holes on a printed circuit board or other circuitry. The cap housing has a plurality of electrical connector receiving cavities profiled to be relatively complementary in shape and of slightly larger dimension to the exterior profile of the electrical connector received within the cap housing. A floating arrangement of the electrical connector within the cap housing is thereby created which prevents coplanarity problems which contribute to non-filled or partially filled solder joints.
