    Abstract: An integrated fault-tolerant augmented area viewing system includes, for example, a subsystem processor for receiving a safety signal for blind spot monitoring from a blind spot sensor and for generating a subsystem processor video output signal in response to the received safety signal. Selector circuitry selects the subsystem processor video output signal or a master controller video output signal received from a master controller and generates a selected video output signal in response. The selector circuitry performs the selection of the video output signal selection in response to receiving a safety request signal generated in response to a user action. A buffer outputs the selected video output signal for displaying on a display for viewing by the user.

One signal conditioning module includes an electronic processor, a first electrical coupling, and a second electrical coupling. The first coupling is configured to be coupled to a port of an electrical harness. The power is configured to receive an electrical coupling of a narrow-band oxygen sensor signal for providing power to the narrow-band oxygen sensor. The second coupling is configured to be coupled to the wide-band oxygen sensor. The electronic processor receives power over the first coupling, powers the wide-band oxygen sensor over the second coupling using the received power, receives first data over the second coupling from the wide-band oxygen sensor, converts the first data to second data, and outputs the second data over the first coupling to the electrical harness for transmission to an electronic control unit coupled to the electrical harness.

More particularly, in one form a system includes an implant configured to be positioned in a disc space between the first and second vertebrae and a freestanding plate for engagement with extradiscal surfaces of the first and second vertebrae. The system also includes an insertion instrument with an engaging portion configured to releasably engage with the implant and the plate such that the implant and plate can be positioned together relative to the first and second vertebrae. In one aspect, an angular orientation of the implant relative to the plate is adjustable when the implant and the plate are engaged by the instrument. In this or another aspect, the implant and plate are held in a contiguous relationship when engaged by the instrument. However, different forms and applications are also envisioned.
