  • Publication number: 20200375528
Abstract: Systems, methods, devices, and apparatus for monitoring intra-oral physiologic and biologic data related to sleep performance for patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). In embodiments, the monitor collects data within the mouth of the patient and sends this data to a smart phone running a dedicated APP which in turn sends this data to the computer of the health care worker for evaluation. In embodiments, data collected is processed using a distributed processing arrangement and an integral scoring algorithm to produce parameters key to the diagnosis and/or monitoring of patients with OSA.

  • Patent number: 8046853
Abstract: An extendable-length, spine immobilizing backboard is disclosed. The backboard is collapsible to the length of a standard backboard for ease of storage and for use in supporting and transporting patients of average height, and a lower portion is telescopically extendable from an upper portion so as to adjustably accommodate patients of above average height. The upper and lower portions are joined by side shafts that telescopically insert into hollow tubes so as to form hand rails on either side of the backboard, and by a flat, rigid central extension that is slidably insertable into a central cavity so as to provide patient support across a gap between the upper and lower portions. The backboard can be collapsed to a length that is six feet, and extended to a length of eighty inches. In some embodiments, the backboard is wider than a standard backboard, being preferably 21 inches wide.

  • Patent number: 7637552
Abstract: A lift and secure latch assembly for a vehicle tailgate includes a pair of cables capable of applying upward force to the tailgate and a tensioning mechanism positioned within the tailgate and connected to the support members to apply tension thereto. One of the cables extends from a first lateral end of the tailgate and the other of the cables extends from a second lateral end of the tailgate. The tensioning mechanism is operable between a first position wherein the cables are retracted with the tailgate closed and a second position wherein the cables are extended with the tailgate open. The tensioning mechanism includes a spring member biasing the tensioning mechanism toward the first position. A latch selectively engages the tensioning mechanism to releasably secure the tensioning mechanism in the first position with the tailgate closed. Preferably, the latch is centrally positioned between lateral ends of the tailgate.

  • Patent number: 7396321
Abstract: A pouch packaging machine and method of selectively changing the orientation of a pouch packaging machine. The pouch packaging machine has at least one spool for holding at least one roll of packaging film material. The packaging film material advance through a press that joins the packaging film material together to form a pouch. The spools and press are supported on a common housing. The housing has a plurality of sides. Identical mounts are disposed on at least some of the sides of the housing. A base platform is provided. The mounts on the various sides of the housing are all configured to engage the base platform. This enables the housing of the pouch packaging machine to attach to the base platform in one of a multitude of possible orientations.

  • Publication number: 20070036296
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for securely providing and retaining phone numbers. A party name is provided and an associated phone number, which is encrypted employing an encryption algorithm. The party name is added to an electronic phone list, while the associated telephone number is retained in an encrypted state. A user can select the caller name from the electronic phone list for placing a call. The associated phone number is then decrypted, and the call made employing the decrypted phone number. The decrypted version of the phone number can then be removed or erased from memory. Therefore, the decrypted version of the telephone number is not available for viewing by the user or accessible to an undesirable party that may acquire access to the electronic phone list.

  • Publication number: 20060274721
Abstract: The invention provides a method and system to create and stores multi-media messages for delivery over a packet network. When a real-time media path over a packet network between two IP phones is unavailable the method monitors the network connection and delivers the recorded message when the media path is available. The invention provides a caller the ability to delivery a message over a packet network to a called party when the called party does not answer an IP phone call and does not have voice mail or video mail capabilities. A caller signals a call agent to record a message and the call agent delivers the message based upon a delivery schedule entered by the caller.

  • Patent number: 6862499
Abstract: The invention is directed to regulating the conditioned space of an environment-controlled transport unit by identifying the product being conveyed as cargo in the conditioned space of a transport unit. A user can identify the cargo by selecting it from a menu of cargo identifiers. Once the cargo is identified, an environment control system retrieves from memory environment-control parameters as a function of the identified cargo, and regulates the environment of the conditioned space based upon the environment-control parameters.

  • Patent number: 6693972
Abstract: A data apparatus (e.g., a modem) continues to generate an analog line signal acceptable to a remote data apparatus' receiver when software fails to deliver samples used to generate the line signal to the hardware in time. The data apparatus uses symbols, rather than samples, which are transmitted from a data-pump unit software to an analog front-end (AFE) unit to generate the analog line signal. When the data-pump is late in providing a new set of symbols, the AFE unit uses previous symbols, randomized versions of previous symbols, or some other source of acceptable symbols to generate a transmit line signal. While data errors will still occur, these data errors are a normal occurrence for data apparatus and a link-layer protocol will detect and retransmit the erred data. The invention avoids having the line signal distorted, which can create data transmission outages due to the remote data apparatus entering into a rate change, initiating a retrain operation, or failing entirely.
