  • Patent number: 6178522
Abstract: A stand alone Redundancy Management System (RMS) provides a cost-effective solution for managing redundant computer-based systems in order to achieve ultra-high system reliability, safety, fault tolerance, and mission success rate. The RMS includes a Cross Channel Data Link (CCDL) module and a Fault Tolerant Executive (FE) module. The CCDL module provides data communication for all channels, while the FTE module performs system functions such as synchronization, data voting, fault and error detection, isolation and recovery. System fault tolerance is achieved by detecting and masking erroneous data through data voting, and system integrity is ensured by a dynamically reconfigurable architecture that is capable of excluding faulty nodes from the system and re-admitting healthy nodes back into the system.

  • Patent number: 5980318
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a connector body with a plurality of terminal receiving cavities formed therein. Each terminal receiving cavity is defined in part by a rigid floor and opposed upright walls. A rigid lock nib extends upwardly from the rigid floor into the terminal receiving cavity. A flexible beam opposes the rigid floor, and preferably includes a terminal hold down bump extending towards the rigid floor at a location generally opposite the rigid lock nib. The connector body is constructed and arranged for receiving a female terminal in each of the terminal receiving cavities. The female terminal may include a first and second end, and a body portion therebetween. The first end is open to receive a male terminal and the second end is constructed for attachment to a wire. The body portion includes a recess or aperture formed therein, defined in part by a rigid lock edge engaging a portion of the rigid lock nib.

  • Patent number: 4077338
Abstract: A vertical shaft furnace for the pyrolysis of pelletized refuse, having a hearth in the base provided with a refuse bed support structure comprising a plurality of cooled, refractory support members, extending radially inward from the wall toward the axis of the hearth. The support structure is characterized by having a plurality of peripheral spaces extending through side structure and converging in the downward direction, each of the peripheral spaces being formed, at least in part, by the side wall surfaces of adjacent support members and the inside surface of the hearth.
