  • Publication number: 20130263380
Abstract: Interlocking foam encasement components to form mattress encasements, and related mattress encasements, mattress assemblies, and methods are disclosed. A mattress encasement is formed by two interlocking foam encasement components engaged with each other. Each interlocking foam encasement component includes a foam base member with two foam side-support members provided in parallel or substantially parallel arrangement on opposite sides of the foam base member. To form the mattress encasement, first side-support members of a first interlocking foam encasement component are interlocked orthogonal or substantially orthogonal to second side-support members of a second interlocking foam encasement component to form a foam side-support perimeter for the mattress encasement. The foam side-support perimeter provides an interior area to receive and encase a mattress innerspring or mattress core.

  • Publication number: 20130232689
Abstract: Box spring assemblies employing foam cushioning grids, and related components, mattress assemblies, and methods are disclosed. Foam cushioning grids are comprised of a plurality of foam grid members that are interconnected to form the foam cushioning grid. By interconnecting the foam grid members, a plurality of voids may be disposed between the interconnecting foam grid members as part of the foam cushioning grid. In this manner, as a non-limiting example, the foam cushioning grid can be disposed on a wire grid, such as in box springs, to provide cushioning support for the wire grid, as one non-limiting example. A load placed on the wire grid will be cushioned by the foam cushioning grid disposed therebetween. Further, as a non-limiting example, voids in the foam cushioning grid allow air to easily flow between the interconnected foam grid members.

  • Publication number: 20130174350
Abstract: Mattress assemblies and methods employing foam side support members and cloth members to enclose mattress cores are disclosed. A mattress may include a mattress assembly enclosing a mattress core. The foam side supports of the mattress assembly may be disposed adjacent to a periphery portion of the mattress core to provide additional support, for example, when a user mounts and dismounts from the mattress. The side support members may be thermally bonded to the cloth members to secure the side supports adjacent the periphery portion of the mattress core. In this manner, the side support members may be precisely positioned relative to the mattress core without the need for adhesives or expensive manufacturing equipment to thermally weld the side support members directly to a foam base.

  • Patent number: 8245397
Abstract: A process of twinning a pair of polymer-insulated conductors to form a twisted pair, where the polymer-insulated conductors are formed by extruding a uniformly thick coating of polymer onto the conductors. More than one twisted pair is encased in a polymer jacket forming a cable. The twisted pair obtains a desirable average impedance performance using a reduced amount by weight of polymer forming said polymer-insulated conductors by: (i) extruding to form longitudinally running peaks and valleys in the exterior surface of each of the polymer-insulated conductors of the pair of polymer-insulated conductors and (ii) twinning resultant polymer-insulated conductors to nest at least one of the peaks in the exterior surface of one of the polymer-insulated conductors in at least one of said valleys in the exterior surface of the other of the polymer-insulated conductors of the pair of polymer-insulated conductors.

  • Publication number: 20120082866
Abstract: A perpendicular magnetic media includes a substrate, a patterned template, a seed layer and a magnetic layer. The patterned template is formed on the substrate and includes a plurality of growth sites that are evenly spaced apart from each other. The seed layer is formed over the patterned template and the exposed areas of the substrate. Magnetic material is sputter deposited onto the seed layer with one grain of the magnetic material nucleated over each of the growth sites. The grain size distribution of the magnetic material is reduced by controlling the locations of the growth sites which optimizes the performance of the perpendicular magnetic media.

  • Publication number: 20110299957
Abstract: An apparatus and method of employing modified twist-to-engage bolts that attach a photovoltaic (PV) module to an extrusion rail or channel within a rail are disclosed. In addition to a modified twist-to-engage bolt (e.g., “t-bolt”), a complementary bracket portion having alignment tabs locks in place and clamps the modules to the rail. The anti-rotation locking system prevents twist-to-engage bolts from disengaging without the removal of the complementary bracket.

  • Publication number: 20110256011
Abstract: A single screw compressor is arranged to vent the flutes of its main rotor at all times, without having to provide a check valve in the discharge port of the main rotor casing. An additional outlet port in the casing vents gas from the discharge ends of the flutes into the body of a slide instead of to the discharge port. The vented gas is guided to an exit port of the slide, from where it can reach either the discharge port or the bypass port of the casing at all times during use of the compressor and under all loading conditions. The design of the slide further allows the use of an offset •? discharge port in the casing, in relation to the main rotor. This means that pressure acting through the discharge port in use of the compressor tends to press the slide against another structure than the main rotor, for instance a bearing housing, giving better support to the slide. The slide also provides an improved oil delivery arrangement.
