  • Patent number: 7503330
Abstract: A smokable rod for a smoking article, such as a cigarette, possesses a co-axial or concentric construction. A longitudinally extending inner core of tobacco cut filler is positioned within a smokable rod. The outer material that circumscribes the inner core in an annular fashion is composed of a tobacco material treated with a burn suppressing agent, and the outer material acts as a substrate for an aerosol forming material. In use, one end of the smokable rod is lit, and the tobacco cut filler of the inner core burns to yield tobacco smoke. The outer material smolders, and hence thermal decomposition products of the outer tobacco material and volatilized aerosol forming material are produced. When the opposite end of the smokable rod is drawn upon, an aerosol composed of tobacco smoke, thermal decomposition products of tobacco, and volatilized aerosol forming material, is provided.

  • Publication number: 20090057497
Abstract: An Innovative Duct Bank Spacer allows the manipulation of the duct bank spacer to accommodate multiple conduit sizes in a single ready-made duct bank spacer. The inventive device includes PVC Pipe that is fitted thru drilled High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) slats. PVC pipe spacers are placed in between the HDPE slats to accommodate the conduit size and spacing needed and/or required. The PVC Pipe is glued into PVC couplings at each end of the Innovative Duct Bank Spacer to secure the placement of the PVC pipes. Two or more Innovative Duct Bank Spacers may be easily joined together with a piece of PVC pipe at either end to create an even larger duct bank spacer.

  • Patent number: 7293564
Abstract: A method for chemically modifying a tobacco material during a curing process involves treating the tobacco material in a curing enclosure at a temperature and for a time sufficient to produce cured tobacco. The method also involves contacting the tobacco material with a chemical reagent before and/or during the time period that the tobacco material is cured so that the chemical reagent can interact with the tobacco material, thus resulting in further change in the chemical nature of the cured tobacco material. An exemplary chemical reagent is an ammonia source, which can be applied to a tobacco material in a variety of ways, including by spraying an aqueous ammonia source onto the tobacco or by introducing gaseous ammonia into the curing enclosure during the curing process.

  • Patent number: 7191331
Abstract: Method and apparatus for integration of network address translation and source address security, including, but not limited to, determining whether a gateway computer is integrated for network address translation and source address security, is described. A client computer requests a first address from the gateway computer and then requests a second address from the gateway computer. The latter request is done with a different client identifier that is nearly equivalent, except for one bit, to the client identifier used for the prior address request. If the gateway computer is integrated for network address translation and source address security, in response to the latter request a public address will be provided from the gateway computer to the client computer.

  • Patent number: 7143137
Abstract: Method and apparatus for Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) and Network Address Translation (NAT) integration is described. A client obtains a public address from a gateway for IPSec communication. A mapping table is used to form associations between a local address for the client and a destination address for a peer, an Internet Security Association and Key Management Protocol (ISAKMP) Initiator Cookie and a Security Parameters Index associated with communication between the client and the peer. Incoming and outgoing routing may be done at the gateway using the mapping table.

  • Patent number: 7143188
Abstract: Method and apparatus for enhanced security for communication over a network, and more particularly to Network Address Translation (NAT) integration Internet Protocol Security (IPSec), is described. A client computer makes a second address request in order to prompt an address server to provide a public address. This address, recorded in a mapping table accessible by a gateway computer. This public address is used as a source address for packets from a client using IPSec. When the gateway computer identifies a packet's source address as one of it's public addresses, NAT is suspended for this packet, and the packet is routed without NAT. Incoming traffic is routed using the mapping table.
