  • Publication number: 20110005053
Abstract: An extraction tool is provided for grasping an assembly (e.g., a circuit card assembly) having a number of openings and a number of respective connector pins extending through the openings. The tool includes one or more generally cylindrical puller structures, each having a central bore and a locking end. One or more filler rods are configured to translate coaxially within the central bore of their corresponding puller structure. The filler rod has a central bore configured to accept one of the connector pins. The puller structure is configured to extend through one of the openings such that the locking end engages the opposite side of the assembly. The filler rod is configured to translate within the puller structure, and around a connector pin extending through the selected opening, to apply outward radial pressure on the locking ends of the puller structure.

  • Patent number: 7817570
Abstract: A method and system for providing automated diagnostics of networks using multiple virtual circuits are disclosed. For example, the method receives a ticket indicating a problem. The method then determines if the problem is associated with a configuration mismatch and determines if the problem is associated with at least one physical channel supporting a plurality of virtual circuits. The method then verifies status of each of the plurality of virtual circuits if the problem is not associated with the configuration mismatch or the at least one physical channel. The method then reports a result of verifying the status of each of the plurality of virtual circuits.

  • Patent number: 7811410
Abstract: A complex waveform frequency matching device is disclosed. In various embodiments, the matching device comprises a plurality of radio frequency generators coupled in parallel with one another. Each subsequent one of the plurality of radio frequency generators is configured to produce a harmonic frequency related by an integral multiple to a frequency produced by any lower-frequency producing radio frequency generator, thereby generating a complex waveform. A plurality of frequency splitter circuits is coupled to an output of the plurality of radio frequency generators, and each of a plurality of matching networks has an input coupled to an output of one of the plurality of frequency splitter circuits and an output configured to be coupled to a plasma chamber.

  • Patent number: 7778165
Abstract: Performance metrics between any two arbitrary end-hosts are predicted based upon previous measurements on the Internet between a plurality of geographically dispersed vantage points and clusters of end-hosts. Each cluster comprises end-hosts that are related based upon their IP address prefixes. In response to a central agent that stores the measured data for each of a plurality of predicted paths on the Internet, the vantage points use traceroute software to measure and periodically update performance metrics such as latency, bottleneck capacity, bandwidth, and packet loss rate for links comprising the predicted paths between the vantage points and one (or more) destination points associated with each cluster, and gather such data using distributed application systems. A user or client application can subsequently request predicted performance metrics for communication between specific end-hosts, based upon the previous measurement data.

  • Patent number: 7611052
Abstract: A beverage dispensing system includes serving spouts in fluid connection with inlet pipes locatable within beverage receptacles. The serving spouts have receptacle identifiers and are associated with prices/price groups or points/points groups. Product data sets in computer memory include a product identifier and have associated receptacle identifiers and prices or points. A reading device calculates value from a stored value device. Stored value device data sets in computer memory include stored value device identifiers and stored values. A user selection component obtains a serving spout selection, and dispenses a volume of beverage from the selected serving spout by comparing the prices or points associated with the selected serving spout and the stored value. User data sets and transaction data sets in computer memory include user identifiers, stored value device identifiers, stored value device identifiers, and receptacle identifiers.

  • Patent number: 7596916
Abstract: The present invention discloses a log cabin construction using naturally tapered logs with multi-beveled interlocking notches located at the end of each log. The interlocking notches serve to form a tight locking connection at the cornering of the structure where the logs overlap one another. The interlocking notches are composed substantially of heartwood, which serves to reduce settlement and maintain a tight connection over time. The measurements for the interlocking notches are a function of the dimensions of the logs used. The log cabin construction further employs anti-settling blocks which are disposed between the logs of the structure. In the preferred embodiment, the anti-settling blocks are positioned in aligned recesses which are present in the logs that compose the structure. Accordingly, the presence of the interlocking-notch cornering system and the anti-settling blocks combine to minimize the negative effects of settling on the structure while providing an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Abstract: The invention relates to substrates of semi-insulating silicon carbide used for semiconductor devices and a method for making the same. The substrates have a resistivity above 106 Ohm-cm, and preferably above 108 Ohm-cm, and most preferably above 109 Ohm-cm, and a capacitance below 5 pF/mm2 and preferably below 1 pF/mm2. The electrical properties of the substrates are controlled by a small amount of added deep level impurity, large enough in concentration to dominate the electrical behavior, but small enough to avoid structural defects. The substrates have concentrations of unintentional background impurities, including shallow donors and acceptors, purposely reduced to below 5·1016 cm?3, and preferably to below 1·1016 cm?3, and the concentration of deep level impurity is higher, and preferably at least two times higher, than the difference between the concentrations of shallow acceptors and shallow donors.
