  • Publication number: 20030075409
Abstract: A hydraulic clutch has an impeller wheel, a turbine wheel with a turbine wheel shell, and a torsional vibration damper. The turbine wheel is drivable by the impeller wheel. The turbine wheel shell is mounted in an axial and radial sliding bearing so as to be rotatable with respect to a turbine wheel hub. The torsional vibration damper is arranged on the turbine wheel hub so as to be fixed with respect to rotation relative to it. The turbine wheel hub is drivable by the turbine wheel via the turbine wheel shell and the torsional vibration damper. The turbine wheel shell acts on the torsional vibration damper via a connection element. The axial sliding bearing is spatially offset with respect to the radial sliding bearing.

  • Patent number: 6301539
Abstract: The speed variation of the driven wheels is analyzed in a method of recognizing critical drive train oscillations which require countermeasures during an (ABS) controlled brake maneuver. The occurrence of oscillations having a frequency typical of drive train oscillations is established. When oscillations with this frequency occur, the duration of the oscillating process is established on each individual wheel, or the number of the successive oscillations or semi-wave oscillations is counted. When a predetermined counter reading is reached, an oscillation recognition is indicated if, at that time, the vehicle acceleration is above a predetermined limit value and if oscillation recognition has not yet been triggered on the other driven wheel. To dampen the oscillations, switch-over to a special control is effected for a defined interval. The commencement of the special control prevents braking pressure reduction, the pressure is maintained constant, or at most a delayed pressure increase is allowed.

  • Patent number: 5956012
Abstract: A series drive circuit for driving a plurality of serially-connected electronic elements, such as electrochromic elements. The series drive circuit maintains a accurately controlled voltage across each of the electronic elements, while reducing power consumption and current consumption. A constant voltage is applied to the serially-connected electronic elements that is the sum of the required voltage for each of the electronic elements. In order to prevent excess voltage across any of the elements, shunts are connected in parallel with each of the elements. In order to reduce excess voltage across any of the elements, the voltage across each of the elements is monitored and used to control the shunts to maintain a accurately controlled voltage across each of the serially-connected electronic elements.

  • Patent number: 4790689
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for producing a support element in the ground are described, a hole being sunk through non-stable ground at least down to the load bearing soil. As a result of a wedge-shaped construction of the drill bit the loosened soil is displaced into the adjacent region of the hole and consequently the area round the hole is compacted. The drill has a circular cylindrical core, which is provided with an outlet opening in the vicinity of the drill bit. Preferably tampable material is filled through the core tube, accompanied by the retraction of the drill. The material is simultaneously tamped with the aid of the drill. The invention has the particular advantage that, in cost effective manner, it is possible to use tampable material from the area immediately surrounding the building site and there is no need for expensive, classified filling material. Tubing of the hole is unnecessary through the use of the core tube.
