  • Publication number: 20180263718
Abstract: Robotic and/or surgical devices, systems, and methods include a manipulator configured to be mounted to a cannula and a processor. The processor is configured to detect a mounting state of the cannula, detect an input indicating the system is to be in a set-up mode, and inhibit transition of the system to the set-up mode in response to the detected mounting state. In some embodiments, detecting the input indicating the system is to be in the set-up mode includes detecting an activation of a dedicated input button. In some embodiments, detecting the input indicating the system is to be in the set-up mode comprises detecting a joint operation of a first kinematic structure coupling the manipulator with a platform that is supported by a second kinematic structure.

  • Patent number: 10075386
Abstract: A method for accessing information. A computer system receives a request for a piece of the information stored in a location between client computer systems and sources of the information. The information has formats for the information in the location. The formats for the information are controlled by the sources of the information. Each of the sources is assigned to control a group of portions of the information in the location. The computer system identifies the piece of the information corresponding to the request. The computer system returns a response to the request for the piece of the information, enabling simplifying access to the information in different formats.

  • Publication number: 20180249359
Abstract: A method for use in determining a position of a mobile device in a wireless communication network includes acquiring, by the mobile device, a first positioning signal transmitted at a first frequency and a second positioning signal transmitted at a second frequency that is different than the first frequency. The mobile device performs a first measurement of a time difference of arrival between the first positioning signal and second positioning signal. In certain implementations, in response to a determination to not apply an inter-frequency bias compensation to the first measurement for inter-frequency related delays corresponding to first frequency, second frequency, or both first and second frequency, the mobile device sends the first measurement and a first measurement description to a server to determine the position of the mobile device. The first measurement description indicates that the first measurement has not been compensated for the inter-frequency related delays.

  • Patent number: 9999476
Abstract: Robotic and/or surgical devices, systems, and methods include kinematic linkage structures and associated control systems configured to facilitate preparation of the system for use. One or more kinematic linkage sub-systems may include joints that are actively driven, passive, or a mix of both, and may employ a set-up mode in which one or more of the joints are actively driven in response to manual articulation of one or more other joints of the kinematic chain. In an exemplary embodiment, the actively driven joints will move a platform structure that supports multiple manipulators in response to movement of one of the manipulators, facilitating and expediting the arrangement of the overall system by moving those multiple manipulators as a unit into alignment with the workspace. Manual independent positioning of the manipulator can be provided through passive set-up joint systems supporting the manipulators relative to the platform.

  • Publication number: 20180166065
Abstract: Examples described herein provide various devices that enable users to participate in a multiplayer session. The examples allow a user that is unable to speak, or that is incapable of speaking, to participate in an in-session voice chat by inputting text and having the text converted to speech (e.g., synthesized voice data) that can then be sent to other devices participating in the session. The user enables a text-to-speech conversion feature on his or her own device. Based on the enabled feature, functionality enabling text to be entered is activated and the entered text is converted into speech data.

  • Patent number: 9795453
Abstract: Robotic surgical tools, systems, and methods for preparing for and performing robotic surgery include a memory mounted on the tool. The memory can perform a number of functions when the tool is loaded on the tool manipulator: first, the memory can provide a signal verifying that the tool is compatible with that particular robotic system. Secondly, the tool memory may identify the tool-type to the robotic system so that the robotic system can reconfigure its programming. Thirdly, the memory of the tool may indicate tool-specific information, including measured calibration offsets indicating misalignment of the tool drive system, tool life data, or the like. This information maybe stored in a read only memory (ROM), or in a nonvolatile memory which can be written to only a single time. The invention further provides improved engagement structures for coupling robotic surgical tools with manipulator structures.

  • Publication number: 20170235777
Abstract: An effective dater provides effective dating to object in a runtime environment. The effective dater identifies an access to a first field of a first object during runtime of a program. The first object is not effective date enabled. The effective date of determines whether the effective dating is to be applied to the first field. In response to determining that effective dating is to be applied to the first field, the effective dater redirects the access to a second object. The second object is effective date enabled. The effective dater then accesses the effective dated value in the second field of the second object according to an access context.
