  • Publication number: 20240408131
Abstract: Hydration of a larynx and/or vicinity with a composition comprising a salt formulation (e.g., CaCl2), MgCl2, KCl and/or NaCl) can achieve prophylactic and/or therapeutic effects (e.g., cough suppression, improving voice quality, increasing pulse oxygen saturation and/or increasing mucosal vaccination effectiveness). The composition is administered as dry particles (e.g., aerosol) or as a liquid (e.g., solution, aerosol). The liquid can have a pH of 7.0 up to around 10.0, or preferably around 7.5 up to around 9.5, or more preferably around 8.0 up to around 9.0, or even more preferably 8.0 to 8.5 or most preferably around 8.0. The droplets can have a mass median aerodynamic diameter from approximately 8 ?m to approximately 15 ?m or from approximately 15 ?m to approximately 500 ?m. A therapeutic dose (e.g., 0.5 mg to 4.0 mg mass of salt) is administered in response to an indication. Such can employ an osmolitically active composition.

  • Publication number: 20240382415
Abstract: Salt-based non-therapeutic hygienic formulations or compositions or therapeutic formulations or compositions, for example those rich in calcium, are effective against airborne pathogens, suppressing virus shedding, for instance by increasing a surface viscoelasticity of airway lining fluid. Associated apparatus, methods and articles are used to deliver salt-based non-therapeutic hygienic formulations or compositions as hygienic treatments to the upper respiratory tract. Associated apparatus, methods and articles are used to deliver salt-based therapeutic antimicrobial formulations or compositions to the upper respiratory tract. For example, nasal delivery of calcium-rich salines with aerosol droplet size of around 10 ?m (e.g., 7 ?m-15 ?m, or more preferably 9 ?m-10 ?m) may advantageously limit distribution to the nose and upper airways of the respiratory tract, suppressing bioaerosol generation.

  • Publication number: 20240334897
Abstract: A method for pet waste removal. The method includes installing a pad on a surface of a platform and receiving pet waste on the pad. A portion of the pad receiving the pet waste defines a soiled portion of the pad. The method includes capturing one or more images of the pad. The one or more captured images are compared to a reference image. Based on the one or more captured images being compared to the reference image, a type of pet waste is detected on the pad on the soiled portion of the pad or an amount of pet waste is detected on the soiled portion of the pad.

  • Publication number: 20240180755
Abstract: A sanitary-pad roll includes a core and a strip that is wrapped around the core. The strip, when unrolled, extends along a longitudinal direction that is perpendicular to a transverse direction. In addition, the strip includes an impermeable layer, an absorbent layer, and a weakened region that extends along the transverse direction and defines segments that are detachable from the strip. These segments, when detached, form corresponding sanitary pads. The impermeable layer, which is wider than the absorbent layer, is folded over along the longitudinal direction to form an overlap, thereby enclosing the absorbent layer.

  • Patent number: 11895981
Abstract: A waste cartridge in combination with a waste machine or apparatus that maintains waste pads for a pet owner, automatically or manually by removing and sealing soiled pads and waste and then replacing the soiled pad with a clean pad on a pet bed of the machine. The apparatus senses when a pet is using a waste pad portion and when the pet is finished, the machine takes up the soiled portion of the pad and removes and seals the soiled portion of the pad roll and the waste automatically, moving the pad into a repository for later removal and disposal of the waste cartridge when the pad roll is used up and then replacing removed pad with a new waste cartridge. The waste cartridge is comprised of a pad roll and a take-up rod attached to one end of the pad by any means such as a clip, slot or adhesive on the take-up rod.

  • Publication number: 20220176064
Abstract: An apparatus to provide scent or other substances (e.g., active agent) includes a thin profile delivery apparatus that includes an actuator (e.g., nebulizer) and drive circuit to generate a spray, aerosol or vapor. The apparatus may have a slot to removably a media cartridge that carries the scent or other substances. The apparatus may include two contacts (e.g., buttons), opposed to one another across a dimension of the apparatus. Activation may require both engagement of both contacts, for instance concurrently, or even successive engagement of both contacts, in quick succession. Activation may further require a correct orientation of the apparatus. The apparatus may have a form factor similar to a conventional credit or debit card, and may be pliable or pliably resilient. The delivery apparatus can be used in entertainment (e.g., food or cooking programming), and in healthcare (e.g., control of metabolism).
