  • Patent number: 7213611
Abstract: A valve assembly includes a body having a bore and a valve received within the bore for movement between an open position and a closed position. First and second sealing members are secured for movement with the valve and are positioned between the valve and the body such that an internal fluid pressure within the bore is applied to a first side of the sealing members and a common reference pressure is applied to a second side. An axial force imparted on the valve adjacent the second sealing member is less than an axial force imparted on the valve adjacent the first sealing member. A resiliently compressible member is positioned to bias the valve toward the normally open position. The valve is moved to the closed position when the internal fluid pressure exceeds a predetermined pressure and returns to the open position when the internal fluid pressure is substantially less than the predetermined pressure.

  • Publication number: 20070067656
Abstract: A power management agent for managing power among electronic systems includes a module for predicting a future power consumption level of the electronic systems, a module for determining a power budget threshold for the electronic systems, and a module for determining whether a predicted future power consumption level will exceed the power budget threshold. The power management agent also includes a module for selecting one or more of the electronic systems to throttle in response to a determination that the predicted future power consumption level will exceed the power budget threshold and a module for selecting a throttle level to be applied to the selected one or more of the electronic systems to substantially prevent the future power consumption level from exceeding the power budget threshold.

The face sheet includes a carrier portion and at least one label. At least one line of separation is formed between each label and the carrier portion to define an outer periphery of the label. The label is removable with respect to the carrier portion. A fold line is positioned between a first side portion of the label and a second side portion of the label. The first side portion includes a first removable panel cut within the first side portion on the face sheet. A first void is formed in the first side portion when the first removable panel is removed from the label. The second side portion includes a second removable panel cut within the second side portion on the face sheet. A second void is formed in the second side portion when the second removable panel is removed from the label.

  • Publication number: 20050131769
Abstract: A system allows a product supplier to maintain a distributor organization which provides low transaction costs throughout the sales chain. The system provides each distributor with a subdomain web site available to consumers within a domain controlled by a product supplier server. The distributor website provides a means for providing information to, and taking orders from, consumers wishing to buy the product supplier products. The distributor website is based on a modifiable website template provided by the product supplier and is customizable to a certain extent whereby the distributor may choose options to modify the website. The distributor website is connected to a product supplier computer whereby product supplier business software and hardware maintain distributor information and provide transactional functions for the commercial chain, such as order taking, taxation, collection, and product shipping which can be performed directly by the product supplier.

  • Publication number: 20050016551
Abstract: An apparatus for commercial advertising and treating environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) in heavy user environments utilizing a fire resistant housing and high efficiency particle air filters (HEPA) is provided. The structure of the housing provides for efficient and effective use in heavy user environments, and functions to enable selective forms of advertisement. A filter system is provided in the housing to filter particle and gas-phase ETS contaminants. A fragrance, air freshener, deodorizer or the like can also be dispensed. A DC battery powered fan is used to draw ETS up and through apparatus and across HEPA filters and carbon filter. The filtering capacity and commercial grade design specifications are targeted toward heavy ETS environments. This apparatus more effectively directs ETS smoke over filter components, to remove ETS particle contaminants and provides design features for commercial advertisement.

  • Publication number: 20040248511
Abstract: A repeater system that is adapted to being mounted on a pole comprises a repeater unit, a first antenna and a second antenna. The repeater unit includes a repeater that is housed within a weatherproof enclosure. The enclosure includes two or more openings and defines an interior chamber or plenum which includes one or more cooling fans and heat sinks. The cooling fans motivate air within the plenum to cool the repeater and reduce the humidity within the plenum. The repeater system is dimensioned to meet the strict guidelines imposed by government regulations and/or pole owners regarding the size, surface area, weight and power requirements of such repeater systems.

  • Patent number: 6697935
Abstract: A system and method for performing computer processing operations in a data processing system includes a multithreaded processor and thread switch logic. The multithreaded processor is capable of switching between two or more threads of instructions which can be independently executed. Each thread has a corresponding state in a thread state register depending on its execution status. The thread switch logic contains a thread switch control register to store the conditions upon which a thread switch will occur. The thread switch logic has a time-out register which forces a thread switch when execution of the active thread in the multithreaded processor exceeds a programmable period of time. Thread switch logic also has a forward progress count register to prevent repetitive thread switching between threads in the multithreaded processor. Thread switch logic also is responsive to a software manager capable of changing the priority of the different threads and thus superseding thread switch events.

  • Publication number: 20030112764
Abstract: The present invention comprises a method and apparatus for automatic discovery of logical links between network devices. In one embodiment, the present invention comprises part of a network management system (“NM”) that manages a discrete set of network devices. The NM sends SNMP queries to individual network devices managed by the NM to obtain interface configuration data for each of the network interfaces of the device. The information requested includes destination information (“next hop” or “neighbor” IP address) for data packets sent from the interface. The NM checks to see whether a logical link corresponding to the received configuration information already exists in a logical link database maintained by the NM. If such a link exists the NM checks to see if the existing information for the link is valid. If the existing link data is valid, no change is made.

  • Patent number: 6567839
Abstract: A system and method for performing computer processing operations in a data processing system includes a multithreaded processor and thread switch logic. The multithreaded processor is capable of switching between two or more threads of instructions which can be independently executed. Each thread has a corresponding state in a thread state register depending on its execution status. The thread switch logic contains a thread switch control register to store the conditions upon which a thread switch can occur. Upon the occurrence of a thread switch event, the state and priority of all threads are dynamically interrogated to determine which thread should be the active thread executing the processor. The thread switch logic has a time-out register which forces a thread switch when execution of the active thread in the multithreaded processor exceeds a programmable period of time.
