  • Patent number: 5618602
Abstract: Disclosed is laminate flooring and other articles with tongues and grooves for joining sections of the flooring or articles and a method of making the tongue and groove joints. The lower surfaces of the tongues and grooves are indexing surfaces for aligning the wear surfaces of the flooring sections. The tongues and grooves are made such that when the tongue is fully inserted into the groove, a continuous space is formed between the upper surface of the tongue and groove. The grooved edges are cut at an acute angle to the surface. This provides a space between the upper surfaces of the tongue and groove and between the edge surfaces above the tongues and grooves toward the wear surfaces of the flooring sections. Glue in the joint, upon curing, resists penetration of moisture and increases the strength of the joint.

  • Patent number: 5613342
Abstract: A watertight, durable, and attractive edge construction for furniture is provided that is especially designed for ease of installation while maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the furniture edge. The edge construction hereof provides for the snapable insertion of a side molding into the exposed sidewall of a furniture panel, and, through the provisions of designed-in recesses, allows for the expansion of the furniture and side molding material and for the dispersion of the bonding medium used to bond the panel and molding together. The invention is particularly adaptable for use in the construction of countertops or other furniture made from sheets of synthetic resin laminate bonded to support decking.

  • Patent number: 4329220
Abstract: A reforming process is disclosed which comprises contacting a sulfur-containing hydrocarbon material in at least one liquid phase scavenging or sulfur removal zone with at least one manganese-containing composition at conditions to remove at least a portion of said sulfur from said hydrocarbon material to produce a hydrocarbon feedstock having a reduced concentration of sulfur; and contacting said hydrocarbon feedstock with a catalyst comprising a minor catalytically effective amount of at least one platinum-group metal component, optionally, a major amount of a porous solid support, optionally, a minor catalytically effective amount of at least one halogen component, and optionally, at least one rhenium component in the presence of hydrogen at hydrocarbon reforming conditions to obtain a hydrocarbon reformate product.
