  • Publication number: 20200280452
Abstract: A server establishes a secure session with a client device where a private key used in the handshake when establishing the secure session is stored in a different server. During the handshake procedure, the server receives a premaster secret that has been encrypted using a public key bound with a domain for which the client device is attempting to establish a secure session with. The server transmits the encrypted premaster secret to the different server for decryption along with other information necessary to compute a master secret. The different server decrypts the encrypted premaster secret, generates the master secret, and transmits the master secret to the server. The server receives the master secret and continues with the handshake procedure including generating one or more session keys that are used in the secure session for encrypting and decrypting communication between the client device and the server.

  • Patent number: 10554443
Abstract: A passenger transport system includes a central control unit for controlling system functions, field devices spatially distributed within the system, and a bus system transmitting data between the unit and the devices. The unit and/or the devices detect a current data transmission and the conclusion of the data transmission, and output different types of data telegrams that differ according to urgency. The unit and/or the devices output data telegrams only when no current data transmission is occurring and after a waiting period has elapsed since the conclusion of a previous data transmission. Each type of data telegram is assigned an individual waiting period on the basis of the respective urgency. Thus, a simple transmission prioritization is implemented during the data transmission, wherein each device can transmit data telegrams with different urgency and data telegrams of higher urgency are effectively transmitted with higher priority than data telegrams of lesser urgency.

  • Publication number: 20200030115
Abstract: An implant or endoprosthesis suitable to be implanted in human or animal tissue includes two (or more than two) parts to be joined in situ. Each one of the parts includes a joining location, the two joining locations facing each other when the device parts are positioned for being joined together, wherein one of the joining locations includes a material which is liquefiable by mechanical vibration and the other one of the joining locations includes a material which is not liquefiable by mechanical vibration and a structure (e.g. undercut cavities or protrusions) suitable for forming a positive fit connection with the liquefiable material. The joining process is effected by pressing the two device parts against each other and by applying ultrasonic vibration to one of the device parts when the two parts are positioned relative to each other such that the two joining locations are in contact with each other.

  • Publication number: 20190281032
Abstract: A server receives a request from a client to establish a secure session. The server analyzes the request to determine a set of one or more properties of the request. The server selects, based at least in part on the determined set of properties, one of multiple certificates for a hostname of the server, where each of the certificates is signed using a different signature and hash algorithm pair. The server returns the selected certificate to the client.

  • Patent number: 9724044
Abstract: For fixedly implanting a device for material or signal delivery or acquisition or a part of such a device in a human or animal body, an opening is provided in hard tissue of the body, the opening reaching through a hard tissue layer, e.g. through a cortical bone layer into cancellous bone underneath. The device includes a plug portion and/or a cover portion which includes a ring of a material having thermoplastic properties extending around the plug portion or on a tissue facing surface of the cover portion. The opening provided in the hard tissue has a cross section at least in the area of its mouth that is adapted to the plug or cover portion such that the plug portion can be introduced through the mouth of the opening or the cover portion can be positioned over the mouth of the opening such that the ring extends around the opening, along its wall and/or on the hard tissue surface around its mouth.
