Abstract: A circular saw blade includes a generally flat disk with a cutting periphery defined by a plurality of carbide teeth arranged in spaced relation around the perimeter of the disk and projecting radially outwardly from the disk. Each tooth of the cutting periphery includes a pair of spaced-apart primary side faces, a cutting face having a cutting edge with a top bevel angle within the range of at least 25 degrees to about 50 degrees, and at least two secondary side faces. Each secondary side face extends between the cutting face and a respective one of the pair of primary side faces and has a relief angle relative to the immediately adjoining primary side face. The circular saw blade of the present invention is ably suited to provide a smooth cutting finish without splintering of the top and bottom edges in connection with a wide variety of cuts, including crosscutting and ripcutting.

Abstract: A device is used for inserting at least one anchor piece into a hollow space of a living being, in order to fix a wall of the hollow space temporarily to a wall of the body by means of the at least one anchor piece. It is proposed that the device has two shaft-like elements which are axially movable relative to one another and by which the at least one anchor piece is held captive at its axially spaced apart opposite ends, and moreover has an actuating mechanism via which the at least one element can be moved in such a way that the anchor piece held by it is released.

Abstract: A ring with a shank and two or more sizing features. The shank defines an aperture for receiving a digit, such as a finger. The sizing features extend from the shank into the ring's aperture. The sizing features may be generally arcuate raised surfaces, humps, or bumps. The sizing features prevent a ring from undesirably turning, provide air spaces between a digit and the ring, and/or accommodate finger size fluctuations. The sizing features are spaced either equally or unequally around the ring's aperture. The sizing features may have widths that approximately match the shank's width, or widths less than the shank's width. Rings with the sizing features may be resized by polishing or grinding down the sizing features.

Abstract: A process and apparatus for maintaining the registration of folds with successive indicia on an advancing paper web is provided. The apparatus includes a control system for detecting the location of the indicia relative to a folding operation and adjusting the web speed to accommodate any mis-registration between the folds and the indicia.
