Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for receiving, at a user device, data from a near-field-communication tag on an object, initiating, based on the data, a browser on the user device, navigating, based on the data and via the browser, to a site and transmitting authorized payment data or other task to the site based on payment data retrieved from either the user device or a network entity. The data can be communicated from the browser to the site through an application programming interface. Any task can be performed as well such as opening a door, starting a car, or renting a parking space.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method including presenting an input field on a user interface of a generalized search entity, wherein the generalized search entity processes data using a generalized search engine that indexes and searches both merchant sites and non-merchant sites, receiving user input in the input field and determining whether the user input corresponds to a product in a product database to yield a determination. When the determination indicates that the user input does correspond to the product in the product database, the method includes presenting a purchase-related search result, wherein the purchase-related search result is configured such that when a user interacts with the purchase-related search result and confirms a purchase associated with the purchase-related search result, the generalized search entity initiates a purchasing process for the product.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method including receiving, at a server and from a browser configured on a device, a request to access the server, the server being associated with a brick and mortar store, transmitting an interactive interface to the browser on the device, and receiving, from the browser on the device and via use of the interactive interface, data associated with a product in the brick and mortar store. The server transmits via a browser application programming interface that defines a protocol for communicating data between the server and the browser a request associated with a purchase of the product and receives according to the API authorized payment data. The user can scan products codes in the store using the interactive interface. The process eliminates the need for point of sale equipment and eliminates checkout lines.

The system associates a policy with the gift credit and generates an image underlay identifying the gift credit and an image overlay hiding the image underlay and gift credit, the image overlay including a separable flap having a portion that appears unadhered to the image underlay, the separable flap being configured to trigger, in response to an input, an animated unwrapping effect that removes the image overlay to reveal the image underlay and gift credit. The system presents the image overlay and, in response to receiving the input, generates the animated unwrapping effect to remove the image overlay and reveal the image underlay.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that provide for a linking of a product database across different search platforms and then managing payments by a generalized search entity such that users are not transitioned to a merchant site from advertisements or search results. A method includes establishing, at a generalized search entity, a link to a product database of a merchant, offering, by the generalized search entity and based on a correlation of search terms to the product database of the merchant, search results across at least a first search platform and a second search platform and receiving, from a user, a confirmation of a payment for a product associated with a search result presented on the first search platform by the generalized search entity. The generalized search entity processes the payment for the product without transitioning the user to a site operated by the merchant.

Abstract: Disclosed are a system and process of providing social networking purchasing processes. A method includes receiving, from a posting entity and at the social networking entity, a posting or a submission of a text, an image or a video. When the submission is associated with a product within a product catalog of the posting entity, the social networking entity presents in a newsfeed of users or otherwise on the social networking entity, the text, image or video with an associated option to buy. The option to buy might be presented through a messenger application or as the user browses the posting. When there is a correlation between the posting and the product catalog, and when the user makes a purchase of the product, the user is not transitioned away from the social networking entity. Initiating a payment process occurs within the social networking entity.

Abstract: A method for rule-based gift giving method collects information about life events of one or more friends from one or more social network systems and/or from one or more online profiles. The gathered information may be organized in a news stream format or a calendar items format. The user creates rules including parameters such as monetary value of the gift, identity of the recipient and the life event on which to send the gift. The user may generate a default list of friends who will automatically receive user-selected gifts on user-selected life events. According to another embodiment, the user may generate an on-demand list of friends who will receive gifts on selected life events upon user's approval.
