  • Patent number: 9651028
Abstract: A system and method of mounting a wind turbine blade is described, designed to aid in the guiding and alignment of wind turbine blade roots with hub-side components, e.g. a blade pitch system. Furthermore, the system is operable to reduce the effect of blade root ovalization. At least one circular collar is provided which can bear against at least a section of the mounting elements, e.g. blade root bushings, projecting from the root end of a wind turbine blade. The collar acts to absorb the forces pushing the blade root towards an oval shape, thereby providing for improved handling of blade root ovalization and ensuring accurate radial alignment of mounting elements, e.g. stay bolt bores and blade root bushings. Such an improved alignment system reduces the likelihood of bolt failure as a result of component misalignments.

  • Publication number: 20160038973
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing coated can lids from aluminum strip, and is based on the finding that flexible, easily formable coatings having high abrasion resistance result from the use of water-based lacquers containing a copolymer or a copolymer mixture of at least one aliphatic, acyclic alkene with at least one ?,?-unsaturated carboxylic acid in water-dispersed form, and a curing system. In a preferred embodiment of the method, the application of a primer coating can be dispensed with entirely when water-soluble compounds of the elements Zr and/or Ti in the lacquer are used as the curing system.

  • Publication number: 20150275019
Abstract: The present invention relates to a water-based can inner coating based on a copolymer or a copolymer blend of at least one aliphatic and acyclic alkene having at least one ?,?-unsaturated carboxylic acid in water-dispersed form, wherein the can inner coating contains a water-soluble curing agent selected from inorganic compounds of the elements Zr and/or Ti, so that the need for using organic hardener systems can be largely avoided. The present invention further relates to a method for the internal coating of tin cans or aluminum cans, in which the previously mentioned can inner coating is directly applied to the metallic inner surfaces of the cans and cured without any need to carry out a conversion treatment for improving coating adhesion of the inner surfaces of the cans.
