  • Publication number: 20230386779
Abstract: A sample holder includes a main component comprising a first surface area, and a retaining mechanism comprising a holding component. The retaining mechanism is configured to retain a sample between the holding component of the retaining mechanism and the first surface area in a closed state of the retaining mechanism. The retaining mechanism is further configured to enter an opened state upon mechanical actuation of the retaining mechanism. The opened state allows insertion and removal of the sample. The retaining mechanism is further configured to revert to the closed state once the mechanical actuation is removed.

  • Patent number: 9178228
Abstract: The invention relates to a solid oxide fuel cell system, wherein planar fuel cells are arranged in stacked form and in this respect an integrated post-combustion of non-oxidized components, or of not fully oxidized components, in the exhaust gas can take place. The fuel cells of a system in accordance with the invention have a cathode-electrolyte-anode unit. A bipolar plate is arranged between two respective fuel cells and channels for the supply and removal of a fuel gas to anodes and of an oxidizing agent to cathodes are present. The exhaust gases at the anode side or at the cathode side are introduced via internal additional channels or directly into an afterburner in which a catalytic post-oxidizing of the exhaust gas mixture formed with the exhaust gas at the anode side and at the cathode side takes place.

  • Patent number: 8895201
Abstract: The invention relates to a high-temperature fuel cell system having a start burner. Such fuel cell systems are in particular operated at temperatures between 650° C. and 1000° C. due to the ion-conductive properties of the electrolytes used. It is necessary for this reason to carry out a heating before the actual operation of the systems, which takes place by an external supply of energy. The exhaust gas of a start burner of the high-temperature fuel cell system is supplied to a heat exchanger or to two heat exchangers in a series connection for the preheating of an oxidizing agent which can be supplied to at least one fuel cell at the cathode side.

  • Patent number: 8471223
Abstract: A sample stage for processing a sample in an ion beam etching apparatus has positioning arrangements each having a receiving apparatus and a mask, a sample being mountable in the receiving apparatus with reference to an ion beam and positionable relative to the mask. The sample stage includes a mechanism that enables a switchover between respective positioning arrangements so a selected positioning arrangement is respectively orientable toward the ion beam. The sample in the selected positioning arrangement is exposed to the ion beam while the remaining positioning arrangements face away from the ion beam. The positioning arrangements are arranged in one common vessel. A method for sequential preparation of at least two samples in an ion beam etching unit using the sample stage is also disclosed.
