  • Publication number: 20210238853
Abstract: A shingle repair patch is provided that may include a base member and granules as discussed in detail above. An adhesive strip is positioned proximate an upper edge on the underside of the base member, or elsewhere on the underside of the base member. The adhesive strip preferably permanently bonds a rigid lip to the base member. The rigid lip preferably extends beyond the upper edge of the base member. An adhesive strip may be positioned on at least a portion of the bottom side of the rigid lip. Release tape is temporarily affixed to the adhesive strip. The adhesive strip is composed of an adhesive that adheres securely without an extended or heat-induced cure period. Standard adhesive may be applied to the remainder of the bottom of the base member, or further adhesive like that found in the adhesive strip may be applied to the remainder of the bottom of the base member.

  • Patent number: 10138919
Abstract: An integral nail/disk structure that eliminates the need of having any exposed nails associated with a shingled roof having a color matching body member integrally formed with a roofing nail. Another embodiment including a fastener such as a nail or screw having an enlarged head and an associated gasket member for fastening sheet metal to a roof structure. The gasket member has a sealant on both of its top and bottom surfaces so as to adhere both to the underside of the enlarged head portion of the nail or screw, and to the sheet metal to create a waterproof seal. Still another embodiment includes an enlarged cap member associated with a gasket member attached to its underside portion wherein the cap/gasket member can be attached over a fastener hole in a roof, or over a faulty roofing nail or screw in lieu of caulking techniques usually used to cure leaks where the faulty fastener attaches sheet metal to a roofing structure.

  • Publication number: 20180283026
Abstract: A shingle patch for repairing a damaged portion of a damaged shingle including a base member having colored granules associated with at least a portion of its top surface, a two sided adhesive tape having its top adhesive surface attached to the bottom surface of the base member and its bottom adhesive surface attachable directly to the damaged portion of the damaged shingle. In one embodiment, the two sided adhesive tape can extend past one end portion of the base member to form a notched portion and, in another embodiment, only a portion of the top adhesive surface is attached to only a portion of the bottom surface of the base member to form a flap portion which is movable to expose the remaining portion of the top adhesive surface of the two sided adhesive tape located under the flap portion to allow a roofing nail to be nailed therethrough.
