  • Patent number: 9132827
Abstract: An apparatus for influencing an automatic transmission has a man-machine-interface, which is connected to a transmission controller for selecting a transmission ratio of the automatic transmission connected to an internal combustion engine, and a monitoring device for monitoring at least one operating parameter that is relevant to the wear of the internal combustion engine, wherein a threshold value of the operating parameter and a desired rotation speed range of the internal combustion engine that depends on the threshold value can be selected via the man-machine-interface, and wherein the transmission controller selects a transmission ratio on the basis of the monitoring device, by which an actual rotation speed of the internal combustion engine is adjusted within the desired rotation speed range. A method for influencing an automatic transmission is also described.

  • Publication number: 20140078772
Abstract: LED lighting devices are provided that include two optical waveguides and at least one LED in an intermediate region between end faces of the optical waveguides so that radiation from the LED is coupled into the optical waveguides through the end faces. A de-coupler is on outer circumferential surface regions of each of the two separate optical waveguides. The de-coupler reflects the radiation guided in the optical waveguides so that the radiation passes through the optical waveguides and is coupled out of the optical waveguides laterally. The intermediate region has a length that is selected so that a brightness difference, measured perpendicular to an axis of the optical waveguides in the center of the intermediate region, at a distance of 10 mm perpendicular to the axis of the optical waveguides is at most 25% based on a maximum value of brightness along the axis of the optical waveguides.

  • Patent number: 7783148
Abstract: A fiber-optic apparatus for receiving emitted radiation from a diode laser having at least one diode laser bar with a multiplicity of emitters which are arranged in at least one row alongside one another in the direction of their longitudinal axis. The fiber-optic apparatus has at least one optical fiber bundle that is associated with the diode laser bar and into which the laser beam is injected. Each emitter has a multiplicity of associated optical fibers. The optical fibers are hot-fused to one another under pressure and without regulation on the input side in order to form at least one fiber wedge with an inlet surface. The emitters of the diode laser bar are directly associated with at least one inlet surface in order to completely receive the laser light emitted from the diode laser bar.

  • Patent number: 7778359
Abstract: A method for clock synchronisation between an amplitude-modulated or phase-modulated received signal (r(t)) and a transmitted signal (s(t)) estimates the timing offset (?) between the received signal (r(t)) and the transmitted signal (s(t)) by means of a maximum-likelihood method. The maximum-likelihood method in this context is realised by an estimation filtering (S40; S140) dependent upon the transmission characteristic, a subsequent nonlinear signal-processing function (S50; S150) and an averaging filtering (S60, S100; S180, S200). The received signal (r(t)) is especially a modified vestigial-sideband-modulated received signal (rVSB?(t)). The nonlinear signal-processing function (S50; S150) maintains the alternating component in the spectrum of the pre-filtered vestigial-sideband-modulated received signal (vVSB?(t)).

  • Patent number: 7587003
Abstract: A method and a device for carrier-frequency synchronization of a vestigial-sideband-modulated received signal (rVSB(t)) with a carrier signal (ej(2?(fT+?f)t+??)), which is affected by a frequency offset and/or phase offset (?f, ??), estimates the frequency offset and/or phase offset (?f, ??) of the carrier signal (ej(2?(fT+?f)t+??)) by means of a maximum-likelihood estimation. For this purpose, the vestigial-sideband-modulated received signal (rVSB(t)) is converted into a modified vestigial-sideband-modulated received signal (xVSB?(t?)), which provides time-discrete complex rotating phasors (|xVSB?(t?)|·ej2??f·t?+??), in which only the time-discrete phases (2??ft?+??) are dependent upon the frequency offset and/or phase offset (?f, ??).

  • Patent number: 7403136
Abstract: A block data compression system comprising a Compression unit and a Decompression unit, and an Algorithm for fast block data compression using multi-byte search. Objective of the invention is to develop a block data compression system and algorithm for fast block data compression with multi-byte search for optimal encoding during the learning phase of substitutional methods, allowing length-limited and relative small blocks of input data symbols to be compressed independently, as required by random-access storage or telecommunication devices; and reaching high-performance characteristics by employed accelerating architectures and highly pipelines data-flow principles.
