Abstract: The invention having functional vertical disposable reaction systems having a vertically mounted semipermeable membrane for sample preparation, chemical reactions, dialysis, enzymatic/microbiological fermentation, multistage processes, in vitro protein biosynthesis on a laboratory scale, formed from a base body and an exchangeable lid having different functions. For exchange across the membrane, the system is placed vertically into an outer volume consisting of gas, liquid or solid constituents. The system consists of a dimensionally stable base body and a liquid-tight lid having a functional support going toward the base of the base body, the dimensionally stable base body forming at least one noncapillary reaction space as inner volume with at least one semipermeable membrane as lateral wall. • Publication number: 20230353787
Abstract: An apparatus for decoding a sequence of pictures from a data stream is configured for decoding a picture of the sequence by deriving a residual transform signal of the picture from the data stream; combining a residual transform signal with a buffered transform signal approximation of a previous picture of the sequence so as to obtain a transform signal representing the picture, the transform signal having a plurality of transform coefficients; and subjecting the transform signal to a spectral-to-spatial transformation. The apparatus is configured for deriving the buffered transform signal approximation from a further transform signal representing the previous picture so that the buffered transform signal approximation has approximations of further transform coefficients of the further transform signal.

  • Publication number: 20230230283
Abstract: There is disclosed an encoder, a decoder, related methods, and non-transitory storage units storing instructions which, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to perform the methods. At an encoder (300), after a spatial transformation stage (304), there is obtained a spatially transformed version (306) of input image information (302) having multiple bands and, for each band, multiple transform band coefficients. After the generation of precincts (311), each comprising transform coefficients covering a predetermined spatial area of the input image information (302), there is provided a component transformation stage (320, 325), to apply one component transformation (CTr) selected (327) out of a plurality of predetermined component transformations, to each band (102?) of each precinct (311). Hence, there is obtained a spatially transformed and color transformed version (323) of the input image information (302), which is subsequently quantized and entropy encoded.

  • Patent number: 11689310
Abstract: A method for providing a maximum channel capacity per optical channel in an optical wavelength division multiplexing, WDM, transmission system is described. The WDM transmission system includes transceivers using multiple optical channels in a WDM channel grid to transport optical signals modulated with a modulation format with a signal symbol rate, SR, via an optical transmission link, OTL, along an optical path from a transmitting transceiver to a receiving transceiver. • Patent number: 11485832
Abstract: High-temperature foams are produced and used in the construction of aeroplanes, ships and rail and other vehicles. In particular, the foams are further processed into sandwich materials by joining with two outer layers. To this end, a novel process is used for producing high-temperature foams (HT foams) which are particularly suitable for producing such sandwich components for lightweight construction. This process achieves an improvement in the processability of the HT foams produced and a weight reduction of the sandwich materials. The HT foams are furthermore rigid particle foams which are markedly more economic to produce than rigid block foams. In particular, a reduction is brought about in resin absorption in fibre composite processes through a process-related optimization of the surface constitution.
