  • Patent number: 11155662
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel PMMA foams and the production thereof. Here, polymers which have been obtained by copolymerization of methacrylamides such as N-isopropylmethacrylamide and without styrene are foamed. It has surprisingly been possible to establish that a stable, simple-to-produce PMMA foam which has very good properties, e.g. a very high compressive strength, and can be joined more simply to covering layers, especially in comparison with known PMMA foams, can be obtained according to the invention.

  • Patent number: 10954319
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel types of PMMA foams and also to the production thereof. The recipes used in the production process include particularly crosslinkers and chain transfer agents as recipe constituents, mostly in low concentrations, in addition to suitable blowing agents. It was found that, surprisingly, the invention provides a simple-to-produce stable PMMA foam having very good properties.

  • Publication number: 20210082183
Abstract: Two-dimensional aerial images and other geo-spatial information are processed to produce land classification data, vector data and attribute data for buildings found within the images. This data is stored upon a server computer within shape files, and also stored are source code scripts describing how to reconstruct a type of building along with compiled versions of the scripts. A software game or simulator executes upon a client computer in which an avatar moves within a landscape. A classifier classifies a type of building in the shape file to execute the appropriate script. Depending upon its location, a scene composer downloads a shape file and a compiled script is executed in order to reconstruct any number of buildings in the vicinity of the avatar. The script produces a three-dimensional textured mesh which is then rendered upon a screen of the client computer to display a two-dimensional representation of the building.

  • Publication number: 20210053055
Abstract: The invention having functional vertical disposable reaction systems having a vertically mounted semipermeable membrane for sample preparation, chemical reactions, dialysis, enzymatic/microbiological fermentation, multistage processes, in vitro protein biosynthesis on a laboratory scale, formed from a base body and an exchangeable lid having different functions. For exchange across the membrane, the system is placed vertically into an outer volume consisting of gas, liquid or solid constituents. The system consists of a dimensionally stable base body and a liquid-tight lid having a functional support going toward the base of the base body, the dimensionally stable base body forming at least one noncapillary reaction space as inner volume with at least one semipermeable membrane as lateral wall. The high flexibility in use results from the combination of variants of the base bodies with different lid variants for different areas of use.

  • Patent number: 10887610
Abstract: Transform block coding is performed very efficiently in terms of computational complexity and compression ratio, by coding the magnitude bits of the transform coefficients distributed in a matrix, in which the magnitude bits of the spectral coefficients are arranged column-wise with the spectral coefficients of the transform block ordered along a row direction of the matrix. That is, magnitude bits within a certain column of the matrix belong to a certain spectral coefficient, while magnitude bits within a certain row of the matrix belong to a certain bit plane. In this configuration, the distribution of non-zero magnitude bits may be condensed towards one corner of the matrix, corresponding to, for instance, the least significant bit plane and corresponding to, by using a scan order among the transform coefficients which sorts the transform coefficients generally in a manner from lowest to highest frequency, the lowest frequency. Various low complexity variants are presented.

  • Publication number: 20200404307
Abstract: A coding efficiency improvement is achieved by performing bit-plane coding in a manner so that coefficient groups for which the set of coded bit-planes is predictively signaled in the datastream, are grouped in two group sets and if a signal is spent in the datastream which signals, for a group set, whether the set of coded bit-planes of all coefficient groups of the respective group set are empty, i.e. all coefficients within the respective group sets are insignificant. In accordance with another aspect, a coding efficiency improvement is achieved by providing bit-plane coding with group-set-wise insignificant signalization according to the first aspect as a coding option alternative relative to the signalization for group sets for which it is signaled that there is no coded prediction residual for the coded bit-planes for the claim groups within the respective group set.

  • Publication number: 20200325298
Abstract: High-temperature foams are produced and used in the construction of aeroplanes, ships and rail and other vehicles. In particular, the foams are further processed into sandwich materials by joining with two outer layers. To this end, a novel process is used for producing high-temperature foams (HT foams) which are particularly suitable for producing such sandwich components for lightweight construction. This process achieves an improvement in the processability of the HT foams produced and a weight reduction of the sandwich materials. The HT foams are furthermore rigid particle foams which are markedly more economic to produce than rigid block foams. In particular, a reduction is brought about in resin absorption in fibre composite processes through a process-related optimization of the surface constitution.

  • Patent number: 10735741
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for compressing an input data set, which comprises one or more input values, comprising the following steps: determining, for each input value, a tolerance range; generating encoded lossy values by a lossy encoding of the input values; generating output values associated with the input values, in particular by decoding the encoded lossy values; generating difference values by subtracting each decoded lossy value from the respectively associated input value; comparing each difference value with the respectively associated determined tolerance range; generating encoded correction values associated with the encoded lossy values on the basis of the difference values, wherein the encoded correction values are offset values, which can be added to the associated encoded lossy values; and providing an output data record as a function of a comparison of the difference values with the tolerance ranges and on the basis of the encoded lossy values and/or the encoded correction values.

  • Publication number: 20200140175
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to a containment system for containing a fluid. More specifically, the disclosure relates to a fitment for attaching a liner within a container and providing a fluid path from the liner to an outside of the containment system. The liner and at least a part of the fitment provide the wetted surfaces for the containment system, while the fitment has a portion that can be joined to an outer container that, for example, provides rigidity and light protection. The fitment may be a two-piece fitment with a liner fitment to which the liner may be joined, and a retainer that may be joined to a container, where the liner fitment and the retainer are joined to one another, for example by a mechanical connection. The liner and liner fitment may be fluoropolymers or other non-reactive polymers. The container and retainer may be UV-blocking polymers.
