Patent number: 7786689Abstract: In order to reliably detect a jamming situation, in particular in a seat adjusting means, provision is made for a total loading exerted by the drive during a start phase to be determined and for this to be fixed as the basic loading. The existence or non-existence of a jamming situation is finally determined during a monitoring phase by comparing the basic loading and the total loading that varies during operation of the adjusting apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2007Date of Patent: August 31, 2010Assignee: Brose Fahzeugteile GmbH & Co.Inventor: Thomas Rösch

Patent number: 7654614Abstract: Lumbar support and control device of a lumbar support and method for controlling a lumbar support of a motor vehicle. An electric control device is provided for a lumbar support which has a drive coupled mechanically to an adjusting mechanism for setting the seat contour of the lumbar support. The control device has at least one computer unit which controls a massaging movement of the lumbar support whereby the massaging movement is characterized through several predefinable ideal speeds. Several ideal speeds for one or more adjusting directions of the lumbar support are controllable through the computer unit. For control by the ideal speeds a drive moment of the drive is adapted to an actual load of the drive so that the massaging movement can be controlled substantially independent of the actual time-changeable or locally variable load. The drive moment is consequently changeable through the control device.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2008Date of Patent: February 2, 2010Assignee: Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. KG, CoburgInventors: Markus Schüβler, Thomas Rösch, Ingo Carl

Publication number: 20090240401Abstract: In order to draw a reliable conclusion about the existence of a jamming situation, in particular in a seat adjusting means, provision is made to distinguish between the following movement classes: a) running difficulty of the adjusting apparatus, b) jamming of an object, c) encountering an end stop, and d) sudden counter-reaction, with a decision criterion (c, c1, c2, M3) being derived from detected characteristic variables (u, i, n) of a motorized drive (2), and the current state of the adjusting apparatus being associated with one of the movement classes on the basis of said decision criterion.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 15, 2007Publication date: September 24, 2009Applicant: BROSE FAHRZEUGTEILE GMBH & CO KOMMANDITGESELLSCAFT, COBURGInventor: Thomas Rösch

Publication number: 20090063112Abstract: Methods and apparatuses enable creating a stateful simulation process with stateless messages. A stateless message instantiates a simulation object for a system to be simulated. The simulation object is identified by an identifier. Activity request messages, which are stateless, identify the simulation object identifier and can thus be associated with the simulation object. Results of execution of requested activities are stored in the simulation object, and thus persisted in the simulation object. In one embodiment, the persisting of simulation results in the simulation object allows the simulation data to be isolated from the active system data. In one embodiment, results of the execution of the simulation are merged in whole or in part with the active backend data.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2007Publication date: March 5, 2009Inventors: Sven Hader, Andreas Huber Buschbeck, Thomas Roesch

Patent number: 6943516Abstract: A method for controlling a vehicle seat adjuster in an adjusting path having a first mechanical stop and a second mechanical stop. A user sets an adjustment position of the adjuster inside the adjusting path. A protective stop is also automatically set in the adjusting path in the vicinity of the mechanical stops or another mechanical block blocking the adjusting path. The protective stop causes the adjusting motion to be reduced or stopped upon reaching of the protective stop. This helps produce a smooth braking of the vehicle seat and reduces the mechanical strain on the mechanical stops. The protective stop may be corrected with an updated protective stop. The updated protective stop is maintained despite any user action if a condition dependent on the adjusting motion of the adjuster is fulfilled. Learning regions within the adjusting path are provided to allow the setting of updated protective stops within the learning regions.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 2002Date of Patent: September 13, 2005Assignee: Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. Patent number: 6852434Abstract: A fuel cell assembly has an improved gas sensor. The improved sensor measures the gas concentrations in the interior fluid passages within a fuel cell assembly or within fluid passages employed to transport reactant fluid streams to or from the fuel cell(s). The improved sensor is particularly suited for use in the environment within the reactant fluid passages of a solid polymer fuel cell assembly and is tolerant to the presence of water. The sensor employs an active electrode; a passive electrode; and an electrolyte in contact with both electrodes. The electrolyte is disposed on a substrate and a heater is located in thermal contact with the substrate for heating the substrate and the electrolyte.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2000Date of Patent: February 8, 2005Assignee: Ballard Power Systems Inc.Inventors: Michael Reindl, Thomas Roesch, Ralf Erich Moos, Thomas Alfred Birkhofer, Wilhelm Mueller, Ralf Wolfgang Mueller

Patent number: 6691806Abstract: The invention concerns a drive unit for a tracked vehicle with a first and a second electric generator (6, 8) and with a first and a second internal combustion engine (10, 12), such that one generator (6, 8) can be driven respectively by one combustion engine (10, 12), and with electric drive motors (14, 16, 18, 20) for driving a right-hand and a left-hand drive track (4, 2). According to the invention it is proposed that the elements of the drive unit are linked in such manner that the right-hand drive track (4) is associated with first and second right-hand electric drive motors (14, 16), the left-hand drive track (2) is associated with first and second left-hand electric drive motors (18, 20), the two first drive motors (14, 18) being fed by the first generator (6) and the two second drive motors (16, 20) being fed by the second generator (8). Due to the wiring of the energy paths according to the invention, very great operational security is achieved even when the drive unit is partially damaged.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2002Date of Patent: February 17, 2004Assignee: ZF Friedrichshafen AGInventors: Werner Wolfgang, Hubert Hund, Thomas Rösch, Bruno Walter
