    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, a configuration for applying weighted averaging to layer 1 (L1) reference signal received power (RSRP) measurements. The UE may receive, from the network node, a plurality of reference signals during a period of time, the plurality of reference signals being quasi-co-located with each other. The UE may obtain weighted averaged L1 RSRP measurements associated with the plurality of reference signals based at least in part on the configuration, the weighted averaged L1 RSRP measurements being available as input to a machine learning (ML) model for beam prediction.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some systems may support the transmission of a predicted negative acknowledgment (NACK) indication for a downlink data message. In some cases, a base station may transmit a downlink data message to a user equipment (UE). The UE may perform a decoding process for the message. The UE may determine whether the decoding process is likely to fail during a first portion of the decoding process prior to completion of the decoding process. The UE may transmit a predicted NACK message to the base station prior to a feedback opportunity configured for the UE to transmit feedback based on a result of the completed decoding process. The base station may determine whether to retransmit the downlink data message based on the predicted NACK message, such that the predicted NACK message may reduce the latency associated with retransmission of downlink data messages.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to millimeter wave (mmWave) device discovery for relay communication using pseudo-omnidirectional beams. A first user equipment (UE) may transmit a synchronization signal over each pseudo-omnidirectional beam to enable a second UE to discover a presence of the second UE within a range of the first UE. Upon the occurrence of an external event, a base station may either trigger a beam training procedure with the second UE to establish a relay link between the first and second UEs or broadcast a message to all UEs requesting a relay link be established with the first UE. The first and second UEs may then select a directional beam pair link (BPL) for the relay link and establish the relay link to enable information to be relayed between the base station and the first UE via the relay link.

    Abstract: In a unified transmission configuration indicator (TCI) framework, certain channels are preconfigured to use a fixed number of TCI states. However, these preconfigured channels are not currently updated when the number of TCI states dynamically change during a switch between single and multiple transmission and reception point (TRP) modes. To alleviate this problem, a user equipment (UE) may receive downlink control information (DCI) indicating a first number of TCI states and, prior to the DCI, downlink information indicating a second number of TCI states, detect a switch between the multiple TRP (mTRP) and single TRP (sTRP) modes based on the first number of TCI states being different than the second number of TCI states, and communicate in a channel configured to use a selected TCI state associated with the first number of TCI states using a predefined rule based on the switch between the mTRP and sTRP modes.
