  • Publication number: 20240367795
Abstract: Technical solutions are described that provide in-flight virtual experiences for passengers onboard a commercial passenger vehicle. In some examples, the in-flight virtual experiences simulate real-life experiences that relate to the respective travels or journeys of the passengers. For example, the in-flight virtual experiences can simulate, in various extended reality (XR) forms (e.g., virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR)), tourism attractions at journey destinations, vendor goods and services, and the like. The in-flight virtual experiences are provided via virtual experience applications implemented by an in-vehicle system, and multiple passengers can interact and collaborate in a combined session for a virtual experience application.

  • Publication number: 20240370217
Abstract: Technical solutions are described that enable passengers on a commercial passenger vehicle interact with each other during a trip using their electronic devices by communicating using an on-board communication platform. The platform can provide an in-flight shared virtual environment or world that is accessible and traversable by passengers and that includes real-world and/or virtual for passengers to consume. Passengers can create or use virtual avatars to preserve anonymity and privacy while interacting and communicating with others within the in-flight shared virtual environment or world. Data records/logs capturing cross-passenger interactions or communications within the in-flight shared virtual environment can be purged after the vehicle's flight.

  • Publication number: 20220203611
Abstract: A method for additively manufacturing a textile sheet product and a three-dimensionally printed textile sheet product (1) are disclosed. The method includes the steps of creating a three-dimensional model of the pre-product and additively manufacturing the pre-product according to the three-dimensional model of the pre-product. In additive manufacturing, a production material is applied layer by layer in this case. At at least one predetermined crossover position of at least two fibrous structures (2a, 2b) and a separation layer material is applied which can be removed from the pre-product and/or inactivated.

  • Patent number: 10690771
Abstract: The present device is an object detection device for assisting individuals with visual impairments to detect objects in front of him or her when walking or riding a bike. The device preferably includes an assistive device like a cane and an echolocation device coupled to the walking assistive device. When a user signals for the echolocation device to do so, the echolocation device uses a parametric array to generate a sound beam. If an object is in front of the user, the audible narrow sound beam reflects off of the object creating a strong, clear echo sound beam toward the user's ear. Because the user is preferably trained in echolocation, he or she is able to determine the distance, position, and possibly the type of object.

  • Publication number: 20160226129
Abstract: Antenna configurations for wireless speakers are disclosed. An example playback device includes a housing having a first base on which the playback device rests when oriented in a first direction, a second base on which the playback device rests when oriented in a second direction, and a side of the playback device. A first antenna may be affixed to the side of the playback device, oriented perpendicular to the second base, and arranged to produce a first electric field in a first direction extending through the first base of the playback device. A second antenna of a second type may be positioned above the second base and below a speaker of the playback device when the playback device is oriented in the second direction. The second antenna may produce a second electric field in a second direction substantially orthogonal to the first direction.

  • Patent number: 9236122
Abstract: A non-volatile storage device comprises: a substrate; a monolithic three dimensional array of memory cells; word lines connected to the memory cells; global bit lines; vertical bit lines connected to the memory cells; and a plurality of double gated vertically oriented select devices. The double gated vertically oriented select devices are connected to the vertical bit lines and the global bit lines so that when the double gated vertically oriented select devices are activated the vertical bit lines are in communication with the global bit lines. Each double gated vertically oriented select device has two gates that are offset from each other with respect to distance to the substrate. Both gates for the double gated vertically oriented select device need be in an “on” condition for the double gated vertically oriented select devices to be activated.

  • Patent number: 9230985
Abstract: A vertically oriented thin film transistor (TFT) having a tunnel barrier is disclosed. The tunnel barrier may be formed from a dielectric such as silicon oxide or hafnium oxide. The vertically oriented TFT selection device with tunnel barrier may serve as a selection device in a 3D memory array. The vertically oriented TFT may be used to connect/disconnect a global bit line to/from a vertical bit line in a 3D memory array. The vertically oriented TFT may be used to connect/disconnect a source line to/from a channel of a vertical NAND string in a 3D memory array. A vertical TFT with tunnel barrier has a high breakdown voltage, low leakage current, and high on current. The tunnel barrier can be at the top junction or bottom junction of the TFT.
