  • Patent number: 11090096
Abstract: An instrument for bending a surgical rod includes first and second arm assemblies. The first arm assembly includes first and second arms having respective first and second receiving portions configured to receive the surgical rod therein. The second arm assembly includes third and fourth arms having respective third and fourth receiving portions configured to receive the surgical rod therein. The instrument is reconfigurable from an initial configuration in which the first and third receiving portions of the respective first and third arms engage the surgical rod such that transitioning the first and third arms towards each other bends the surgical rod in a first orientation and transitioning the first and third arms away from each other bends the surgical rod in a second orientation opposite to the first orientation.

  • Publication number: 20210220021
Abstract: A transverse connector includes a cross member assembly, a first connector assembly, and a second connector assembly. The cross member assembly includes a cross member, a first ring, and a second ring. The cross member has a first end portion and a second end portion. The first ring is receivable on the first end portion of the cross member and the second ring is receivable on the second end portion of the cross member. The first and second connector assemblies are coupled to the first and second rings of the cross member assembly, respectively, to support the cross member between the first and second connector assemblies. The first and second connector assemblies are configured to selectively and releasably secure to bone anchors.

  • Patent number: 10813670
Abstract: A spinal stabilization system including a connecting rod and a bone screw. The connecting rod includes an elongate rounded section, an elongate head portion, and a neck portion connecting the elongate rounded section with the elongate head portion. The bone screw includes a head portion defining a slot, a shank extending longitudinally from the head portion, and a set screw configured to secure the connecting rod in the slot. The head portion includes a pair of radially opposing walls defining the slot therebetween. The head portion includes a trailing end and a leading end. The trailing end includes a guide member defining an aperture configured and dimensioned to receive the set screw therethrough. The aperture is in communication with the slot. In particular, the guide member interconnects the pair of radially opposing walls.

  • Publication number: 20200214752
Abstract: A rod bender for bending a surgical rod includes first and second arms. The first arm includes first and second engaging portions. The second arm includes third and fourth engaging portions. The rod bender is reconfigurable between a first configuration in which the second and fourth engaging portions of the respective first and second arms engage the surgical rod such that spreading of the first and third engaging portions of the respective first and second arms bends the surgical rod in a first orientation and a second configuration in which the first engaging portion of the first arm and the fourth engaging portion of the second arm engage the surgical rod such that spreading of the second engaging portion of the first arm and the third engaging portion of the second arm bends the surgical rod in a second orientation opposite to the first orientation.

  • Patent number: 10610265
Abstract: A polyaxial bone device includes a screw, a screw housing, and a spring. The screw includes a screw head and a shaft that extends from the screw head. The screw housing defines a longitudinal axis and a bore that extends along the longitudinal axis. The screw housing includes a basewall and opposed sidewalls that extend from the basewall. The basewall defines a notch that receives the shaft to increase pivotal movement between the screw and the screw housing relative to the longitudinal axis of the screw housing. The opposed sidewalk define a rod-receiving channel. The screw housing defines a transverse hole in communication with the bore. The spring is supported in the transverse hole and extends therethrough. The spring extends into the bore to frictionally engage the screw head while the screw head is seated in the bore.
