  • Patent number: 9351729
Abstract: Reinforcing lumen rings are configured and adapted for use in conjunction with a circular endoscopic stapling instrument having a staple cartridge assembly and an anvil assembly. The reinforcing lumen rings maintain anastomotic lumen, e.g. as formed by the circular endoscopic stapling apparatus, in an open condition. The reinforcing lumen rings can include an annular ring having an outer terminal edge and an inner terminal edge, the outer terminal edge having a diameter which is substantially equal to an outer diameter of the staple cartridge assembly and the inner terminal edge having a diameter which is substantially equal to an inner diameter of the staple cartridge assembly.

  • Publication number: 20150245975
Abstract: A bladder assembly for a compression apparatus for providing pressure to a limb, where the bladder assembly includes at least one bladder. The bladder includes a first and a second flexible wall secured to one another about a peripheral edge thereof to form an air pocket. The bladder further includes at least one spot weld provided in a predetermined location inward of the peripheral edge connecting the first and second walls to one another to define a plurality of chambers within the air pocket. The bladder assembly may be used in a variety of compression apparatus and the compression apparatus may also include a pressure gauge and pump for controlling an amount of pressure applied to the treatment site via the bladder. The bladder may be configured to provide a gradient pressure profile to the treatment site when filled.

  • Patent number: 7115285
Abstract: A composition for suppressing appetite and cravings for substances such as nicotine, coffee, sweets or chocolate while improving energy and enhancing mood comprises theobromine or a salt thereof at an effective amount of from about 250 to 4000 mg. Using such relatively high proportions of theobromine, without added caffeine or ephedrine provides an effective method for promoting weight control or to halt substance cravings without the side effects associated with such stimulants. The composition also includes Rhodiola rosea extract to offset stress effects from reduced food or substance intake, and to further improve mood, and clarity of thought and ability to handle stress, and to also increase endurance while reducing muscle pain.

  • Patent number: 7065350
Abstract: The apparatus includes a first passive signal repeater and a second passive signal repeater, operable to respond to the wireless data signal and to first and second wireless transceivers, respectively. A mounting device is configured to traverse a structure within the building, and to receive the first and second passive signal repeaters. The mounting device has a transfer path, which is operable to transfer the wireless data received at the first passive signal repeater to the second passive signal repeater, and to transfer the wireless data signal at the second passive signal repeater to the first passive signal repeater. When the mounting device traverses the structure, and the first and second signal repeaters are arranged on the mounting device in such a manner that the transfer path is operating, a wireless signal path traversing the structure is created between the first wireless transceiver and the second wireless transceiver.

  • Patent number: 7042364
Abstract: A portable proximity alert detector is provided for a user to determine when at least one companion comes within a predetermined range of the user. The device includes a receiving portion for wirelessly receiving a first signal encoded with a code identifying a companion and a transmitting portion for wirelessly transmitting a second signal encoded with a user identifying code. The device also includes a processor, a modulator operationally coupling the processor to the transmitting portion for modulating the user identifying code, and a demodulator operationally coupling the processor to the receiving portion for demodulating the companion identifying code. A first memory segment is operationally coupled to the processor for storing companion identifying codes received by the receiving portion. A second memory segment is operationally coupled to the processor for storing companion identifying codes of companions whom the user desires to contact.

  • Publication number: 20050277491
Abstract: Adjustable weight training belt for use with a baseball bat comprising a first layer of flexible material and a hook and loop fastening system. The hook portion of the fastening system connected to one face and the loop portion of the fastening system on the other face, the fastening system being adjustable to adjust the area encircled by the belt. A second layer of flexible material connected to the first layer forming a plurality of pockets between the a face of the first layer and a face of the second layer. A face of the second layer has a high coefficient of friction to resist movement of the belt when placed about the barrel of a baseball bat. A plurality of malleable weights engaged in the pockets, the weights formed to the curved surface of the barrel creating a substantially similar surface profile contributing to the resistance of movement.
