Abstract: The present invention is directed to a new and improved baseball glove. The glove includes an outer shell that contains a finger portion, a thumb portion, and a palm portion. The finger portion comprises two or three finger holsters, the outermost holster accommodates two or three fingers, the remaining finger holster(s) accommodates one or two fingers. One or more finger separator(s) reside within the outermost finger holster to prevent discomfort of the fingers. A web portion is attached between the finger portion and the thumb portion. A protective padding strip is located within the surrounding area immediately adjacent to the web portion. The finger portion and thumb portion are spaced apart to minimize the impact of a caught ball with the user's hand. A web-reinforcement patch is located over a variable region surrounding the intersection of the lower region of the web portion and the outer shell.

Abstract: A font control application detects a user selection of text being edited in a text-editing application. In response to a single user command, the font control application presents a font preview menu including the selected text automatically rendered multiple times in different fonts. In response to receiving a user selection of one rendition of the selected text from the font preview menu, the font control application instructs the text-editing application to change a font of the selected text to the font of the selected rendition.

Abstract: An outer door designed to open outward where the space to open outward is severely restricted. The top of the outer door rotates upward about a horizontal axis as the bottom of the outer door rotates about a vertical axis. A cross bar fixedly attached to the bottom of the outer door pulls the top of the outer door via at least one spring so that the outward motion of the bottom of the outer door lifts the top of the outer door, and then allows the top of the outer door to become vertical again when the bottom of the outer door is returned to the entryway in a closed position.

Abstract: This invention provides methods and systems, e.g., to control the flow of photo-polymerizable resins. In the method, e.g., flow of a photo-polymerizable resin is restricted from illuminated resin exclusion regions on a substrate surface by precisely situated flow barriers. A system to control photo-polymerizable resin flow includes, e.g., a light source, a mask and a substrate.

Abstract: An improved compact, secure localization tag useful for identifying and tracking the tag in an environment comprising discrete areas is disclosed. Further, systems and methods for area-based localization of tags using received signal strengths is also disclosed. Tracking the location of an asset can be facilitated by attaching a tag that transmits a beacon signal to the asset. The beacon signal can be received and measured by beacon receivers so as to locate the asset and the attached tag.

Abstract: A self-locking collar assembly for a saw blade is provided, in addition to a saw blade per se and a sawing machine characterized by the assembly of the subject invention. The subject assembly preferable and advantageously includes a collar having an inner periphery adapted for receipt upon a spline, with the collar adapted for affixation to a saw blade. A self-locking link is pivotally mounted at an end thereof to a portion of a surface of the collar. The self-locking link includes a spline engaging lobe for axially affixing the saw blade to the spline in furtherance of producing a pre-select dimensional rip of a work piece.

Abstract: A rule based biometric user authentication method and system in a computer network environment is provided. Multiple authentication rules can exist in the computer network. For example, there may be a default system-wide rule, and a rule associated with a particular user trying to log in. There may be other rules such as one associated with a remote computer from which the user is logging in, one associated with a group to which the user belongs, or one associated with a system resource to which the user requires access such as an application program or a database of confidential information. An order of precedence among the rules is then established which is used to authenticate the user.

Abstract: A knee brace for proprioceptively treating a patient comprises a sleeve having an anchor strap and a viscoelastic pad. The sleeve defines inner and outer sleeve surfaces and is configured to envelop the patient's knee. The anchor strap is circumferentially wrappable about the outer sleeve surface and defines an inner strap surface. The anchor strap has an intermediate anchor portion disposed on the inner strap surface between opposing end anchor portions that are releasably securable to the outer sleeve surface such that tension in the anchor strap may be selectively adjusted. The knee brace includes an elastic band extending along the inner strap surface. The viscoelastic pad is securable on the inner sleeve surface generally opposite to the elastic band such that pressure may be applied to the patient's infrapatellar tendon when the anchor strap is extended over the outer sleeve surface.

Abstract: A method of establishing a plurality of target device settings for at least one target device based on a plurality of source device settings of a source device via a network includes the steps of writing each setting of the plurality of source device settings to the at least one target device, generating an invalid setting indication for each setting not accepted by the at least one target device, querying the at least one target device for setting information based on each the invalid setting indication, and writing, for at least one of each setting not accepted by the at least one target device, a value to the at least one target device, the value corresponding to the setting information.

Abstract: Provided is a device for improving the posture of a patient comprising a garment and a pair of tension straps. The garment is configured to tightly envelope the patient's torso and the patient's upper arms. The garment has an inner surface, a front side and a back side. The front side includes a chest portion. The back side includes a back portion. The garment defines opposing shoulder portions and a waist portion. The tension straps are releaseably securable to the back portion in diagonal relation to one another. Each one of the tension straps has opposed free ends that extend upwardly from the back portion to the chest portion and downwardly to the waist portion. The device includes viscoelastic pads releaseably mounted on the inner surface of the garment generally opposite the free ends and are configured to restrict movement of the free ends relative to the patient's skin.

Abstract: A unique seasonal light decoration framing kit which is simple to construct and can be utilized season after season. The frame is easily assembled by an individual using hand tools. The unit is fully adjustable to fit most windows and collapsable for easy storage. The unit contains mountable hardware (in the form of hooks and eyes) which allows the unit to attach to any size window frame in a home or a commercial building. Industry standard strands of mini-lights are inserted into pre-fabricated holes of the frame which are equally spaced. The unit provides a unique alternative to taping or stapling decorative mini-lights in a square or rectangular window.

The base has a generally planar upper surface. A system of mirrors are secured to the upper surface of the base allowing a driver of the truck to see blind spots normally associated with trucks.
