  • Publication number: 20240367334
Abstract: A device for producing various types of cut, slit, or scored packing material includes a housing having an entry opening for receiving packing material, an internal chamber including a movable carriage having one or more rotary blades, and an exit opening. A controller of the device is operably coupled to a motor for moving the carriage between a first position and a second position within the internal chamber as packing material is advanced therethrough. In response to receiving a user input at a user interface operably coupled to the controller, the controller is configured to cause the motor to facilitate movement of the carriage between the first and second positions such that a rotary blade thereof may engage with and cut, slit, or score the packing material as the material is advanced through the device.

  • Publication number: 20240308375
Abstract: Vehicle charging systems and methods are provided for controlling an electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) assembly during a vehicle charging event. A temperature of the EVSE assembly may be monitored, and the EVSE assembly may be shut down when the temperature exceeds a predefined temperature threshold. After the temperature falls back below the predefined temperature threshold, the EVSE assembly may be restarted at a reduced charging current level. This process of shut down and restart may be continuously repeated until the temperature of the EVSE assembly can be maintained below the predefined threshold temperature during the charging event, thereby reducing charging standby times.

Abstract: Described herein are variants of alpha-hemolysin having at least one amino acid substitution at H35G, E111N, M113A, and/or K147N in the mature, wild-type alpha-hemolysin amino acid sequence. In certain examples, the variant may have a substitution at E111S, M113S, T145S, K147S, or L135I in the mature alpha-hemolysin amino acid sequence. The ?-hemolysin variants may also include a substitution at H144A and/or a series of glycine residues spanning residues 127 to 131 of the mature, wild-type alpha hemolysin. Also provided are nanopore assemblies including the alpha-hemolysin variants, the assembly having an increased nanopore lifetime. Further, provided are variants that, in addition to providing increased lifetime, provide a decreased time-to-thread. • Publication number: 20230415602
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for preparing electrified vehicles to transfer energy to other structures. Weather related data and/or grid related data may be leveraged for predicting the likelihood of power outage conditions of a grid power source. When power outage conditions are predicted as being likely, the electrified vehicle may automatically enter a readiness state for transferring power to the structure without any time delays once an actual power outage condition occurs. Entering the readiness state may include steps such as waking up the electrified vehicle, initiating communications with electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), completing vehicle pre-checks, precharging certain power transfer system components, etc.

  • Publication number: 20230402860
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a battery charging system configured to selectively charge a battery pack of an electrified vehicle. More particularly, the battery charging system is configured to interrupt a buildup of carbon deposits. A corresponding method is also disclosed. In some aspects, the techniques described herein relate to interrupting a buildup of carbon deposits on a printed circuit board of a battery charging system configured to selectively charge a battery pack of an electrified vehicle, wherein the buildup of carbon deposits follows a path between an input pin of a relay on the printed circuit board and an output pin of the relay, and wherein the buildup of carbon deposits are interrupted by a slot formed in the printed circuit board.

  • Publication number: 20230234458
Abstract: Charge adaptors may be provided as part of a bidirectional energy transfer system for charging multiple vehicles from a single power source. An exemplary charge adaptor may enable intelligent charging of multiple vehicles from the power source through various configurations (e.g., daisy-chain, multiplex, etc.) and strategies (e.g. sequential, parallel, staged, etc.). A microcontroller of the charge adaptor may serve as the primary controller of energy flow through a bidirectional energy transfer system, with other connected devices such as the charge source, vehicles, and other charge adaptors configured to function as periphery control devices. The charge adaptor may implement an AC coupled design in which a common voltage bus is utilized to splice energy to other charge adaptors for enabling bidirectional energy transfers.
