  • Patent number: 9841802
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for managing wake locks in a wireless communication device. The described methods, systems and devices may enable a wireless communication device to monitor activity of an application for which a wake lock is held. The described approach may manage the wake lock based at least in part on the activity or inactivity of the application. For example, when the application is inactive or has activity below a particular threshold for a certain amount of time, the described approach may determine to release the wake lock.

  • Publication number: 20150101832
Abstract: A method of forming multiple inclusions into a subterranean formation can include initiating the inclusions into the formation, the inclusions extending outwardly in respective multiple azimuthal orientations from a casing section, and flowing fluid into each of the inclusions individually, thereby extending the inclusions into the formation one at a time. A system for initiating inclusions outwardly into a subterranean formation from a wellbore can include a casing section having multiple flow channels therein, each of the flow channels being in communication with a respective one of multiple openings formed between adjacent pairs of circumferentially extendable longitudinally extending portions of the casing section. Another system can include a casing section, and an injection tool which engages the casing section and selectively directs fluid into each of the inclusions individually, whereby the inclusions are extended into the formation one at a time.

  • Patent number: 8590614
Abstract: A reciprocating apparatus for pumping pressurized fluid. The reciprocating apparatus comprises a plunger disposed within a cylinder, wherein the plunger is hollow and ported for enabling fluid within the cylinder to flow into the plunger. The plunger includes at least one outlet through which fluid within the plunger flows out of the plunger. In operation, the plunger retracts to displace fluid from the hollow body and into a discharge chamber, and the plunger extends towards the discharge chamber to discharge the displaced fluid. As the plunger alternately retracts and extends, fluid within the plunger continuously flows towards the discharge chamber.

  • Publication number: 20090041588
Abstract: An active valve system may be used to improve operation of the suction valve(s) of a positive displacement pump. As appropriate, the active valve system may apply a force to the suction valve directed to open and/or close the suction valve. By quickening the opening and/or closing of the suction valve, the pump may run at a higher speed and operate with less wear. Additionally, the active valve system may allow all suction valves of a pump to be held open for various purposes.
