  • Patent number: 11925335
Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a rotatable electrical coupling assembly having a first part and a second part that electrically couple and rotate relative to each other. The second part is carried by and rotates with a tube collar coupled to a transducer. A portion of the transducer is inserted through an aperture of the second part, but does not contact the second part. The first part of the assembly may electrically couple to the second part via pogo pins, brush contacts, or ball bearings. Alternatively, the first part may comprise conductive channels formed in the casing. The second part may comprise a rotatable drum with a conductive trace. In some versions, one or more components may comprise MID components. In another version, the rotatable electrical coupling assembly comprises a rotatable PC board and brush contact. Further still, a circuit board may be provided with the transducer inside a transducer casing.

  • Patent number: 7520347
Abstract: A stair chair for transporting a person up and down a flight of stairs and over a surface is disclosed. The stair chair comprising a main frame and a glide track assembly to support the stair chair for movement on the flight of stairs. The glide track assembly is pivotally connected to the main frame for pivotal movement between open and closed positions. The glide track assembly has at least one endless glide track. The stair chair also provides an adjustable glide track resistance and braking device which engages the endless glide track and is configured to infinitely adjust the amount of resistance applied to the endless glide track between 0 to 100% resistance and to set a desired rolling resistance applied to the endless glide track.

  • Patent number: 4805941
Abstract: A quick-release wheel retainer consisting of a hooked-shaped member having a generally planar shaped tab attached thereto and extending outwardly therefrom approximately perpendicular to the hook-shaped member. The member is pivotally connected to a vertical drop-out of a bicycle front fork and the pivot connection is positioned directly above the drop-out slot such that, once in a locked position about a bicycle axle, the weight of the axle against the member causes the retainer to remain in that locked position.

  • Patent number: 4729604
Abstract: A wheel shroud for substantially covering and enclosing a spoked portion of a bicycle wheel which includes a pair of identical shroud members, each of which is disk-shaped and has a central aperature for receiving a wheel hub, an outer periphery sized to extend to a wheel rim, and a valve stem opening formed adjacent to the outer periphery having a reinforcing rib about its periphery which extends inwardly. The reinforcing ribs of the shroud members are shaped to form a through passage having a substantially closed wall which not only strengthens the shroud members in that area but prevents contaminants from entering an interior portion of the shroud. The shroud members also include pairs of opposing recesses having bottom walls that abut each other, when the shroud members are mounted on a wheel, to form spacer elements which space the outer peripheries of the shroud members an appropriate distance apart.

  • Patent number: 4585246
Abstract: A bicycle frame of the type having a head tube, a seat bracket and a bottom bracket, each having hollow lugs extending therefrom and joined together by cylindrical tubes extending over and attached to the lugs, having an internal cable system in which the top lugs of the head tube and seat bracket each have a cable outlet, and a cable, such as a brake cable, is threaded through the cable outlets and along the tube joining the head tube and seat bracket. The cable outlet of the head tube is positioned immediately adjacent to the open, tubular segment of the head tube. Positioning the outlets on the lugs preserves the structural integrity of the top tube and facilitates replacement of the cable. Replacement is effected by pushing the cable through the cable outlet of the seat bracket, along the tube to the head tube, then out through the head tube cable outlet.

  • Patent number: 4583755
Abstract: A bicycle comprising a plurality of lugged members, each having a plurality of substantially cylindrical stub inserts extending outwardly therefrom, and a plurality of hollow, substantially cylindrical tubes which receive the stub inserts in their ends and join the lugged members together to form the frame. Each of the stub inserts includes an inner portion having a first outside diameter and an outer, pilot portion having a second, smaller outside diameter. The tubes are sized such that their inside diameters form a slip-fit with the pilot portions and a press fit with the inner portions of the inserts. An appropriate metal adhesive is applied to the pilot portions to form a bond between the pilot portions and the tubes so that the frame components are held together by the adhesive bond as well as the press fit engagement between the inserts and tubes. The press fit engagement is such that the frame is capable of storage and handling prior to the setting up of the adhesive bond.
