  • Publication number: 20110023329
Abstract: Customizable studs for articles of footwear having variable ground interaction characteristics are disclosed. A customizable stud may generally include a fastening member formed of a fastening member cap and fastening member shaft, a plurality of rings, and a washer. The fastening member cap and the plurality of rings define the ground interaction characteristics of the stud. To vary the ground interaction characteristics, the contour, height, and material makeup of the stud may be altered by varying the shape, number, thickness, length, and material of the rings. The stud components may be sold as a kit with at least one fastening member and a plurality of rings with varying characteristics. The kit may also include at least one washer.

  • Patent number: 7861601
Abstract: A natural gradient, single well, tracer dilution non-continuous mixing apparatus and method for measuring flow of liquids through porous media are described. The method has been applied to concentrations of Light Nonaqueous Phase Liquid (LNAPL) in monitoring wells to measure the rate of LNAPL flow through the wells and through the adjacent formation. Similar measurements were made for concentrations of water in other formations. A LNAPL-soluble fluorescing tracer was added to LNAPL in the wells, and a water-soluble fluorescing tracer was added to water in the wells. The tracer is initially uniformly-mixed into the LNAPL or water in the well, and the tracer concentration is measured using a fiber optic cable and a spectrometer. The LNAPL or water with dissolved tracer is then allowed to flow from the well without any mixing. At a later time, the LNAPL or water and tracer in the well are mixed to a uniform tracer concentration, and the tracer concentration is remeasured.

  • Publication number: 20100287600
Abstract: A Universal TAI handles multiple identifications by means of an internal lookup table. When authenticating and authorizing requests, from a pre-registered customer, that are serviced by an application server, a reverse proxy security server receives requests of different protocols and associates user identification information of a single user with different formats based on the types and protocols of the requests. The Universal TAI determines a fundamental identification of the user from a lookup table, substitutes the fundamental identification into the requests of different protocols for the same user principal, and passes the request with the fundamental identification to the application server.

  • Patent number: 7741941
Abstract: An electromagnetic valve assembly having a dual armature solenoid for controlling two valves is disclosed. In one embodiment, the solenoid may include a first pole piece, a second pole piece spaced from the first pole piece, a coil disposed about at least a portion of the first pole piece, a first armature extending laterally across the first pole piece and the second pole piece, and a second armature extending laterally across the first pole piece and the second pole piece. In one illustrative embodiment, the first armature and the second armature pivot relative to the second pole piece. In another illustrative embodiment, the first armature and the second armature pivot relative to the first pole piece. In yet another illustrative embodiment, the first armature and the second armature pivot relative to opposite pole pieces. In any case, the coil may electromagnetically actuate the first and second armatures to selectively open and/or close corresponding valves or other actuatable components.

  • Patent number: 7624193
Abstract: A mediation server assigns customized “plug-ins” to particular network access servers (NAS) that allow a service provider application to use a single interface to communicate with multiple types of NASs. Vendor specific details of NAS transaction processing are hidden in the customized plug-ins implementations in which a service provider application has no knowledge of such transaction processing information. The mediation server extracts a user identifier from a call request, and uses the user identifier to select a mediation handler plug-in. The mediation server then uses the mediation handler plug-in to communicate with a particular NAS. In addition, a RADIUS server uses a NAS identifier to assign a RADIUS handler plug-in to a NAS session, and uses the assigned RADIUS handler plug-in to communicate with the NAS.

  • Publication number: 20080144651
Abstract: A method, system and program product for overriding existing functionality provided in an application programming interface (API) for a local protocol implementation is provided. The method includes providing an API for a local protocol implementation having a raw interface function that can be invoked by a client application to override existing functionality provided in the API. The method further includes defining for the raw interface function an array of pre-formed payload elements to be included for creating a customized protocol request message for requesting a protocol service from a server application using a remote protocol implementation different than the local protocol implementation, populating data for each element in the array defined, and invoking the raw interface function, which takes as input the array defined and inserts them, in order, behind a protocol message header of the protocol request message and sends the customized protocol request message to the server application.

  • Publication number: 20080134843
Abstract: A socket receiver for a wrench assembly that is used with a socket having a longitudinal axis includes a receiver body and a socket retainer. The receiver body selectively receives the socket. The receiver body can include a proximal section, a distal section and a body aperture. The proximal section is shaped to inhibit the socket from rotating relative to the receiver body. The distal section is positioned so that the proximal section is between the distal section and the wrench body. The distal section is shaped so that the distal section does not inhibit the socket from rotating relative to the receiver body. The body aperture extends continuously through the proximal section and the distal section. In some embodiments, the socket retainer can encircle the receiver body. The socket retainer engages the socket to inhibit movement of the socket relative to the receiver body in a direction substantially along the longitudinal axis.
