  • Patent number: 9851381
Abstract: The invention provides an in-line power monitor for an RF transmission line that is capable of being calibrated in-line during live conditions at the exact power level and frequency where it is used. This device uses forward and reflected directional couplers and a non-directional coupler to sample the RF voltage on the transmission line. The RF voltage of the forward and reflected channels are each split into two paths, one going to a test port and the other leading to additional circuitry which prepares the signals of the forward and reflected channels for output to power displays. Additionally, the monitor allows the user to compensate for any voltage offsets introduced by various circuitry components. Further, the monitor also allows to user to individually calibrate the output of the forward and reflected channels by applying an adjustable gain ratio correction to each channel.

  • Publication number: 20170226266
Abstract: The subject disclosure presents systems and methods for manufacturing a non-porous thermoformable polyurethane solid by combining an uncured polyurethane resin with Aluminum Trihydrate (ATH), a plurality of particulates, molecular sieves, and color particulates. This combination is mixed in a vacuum for a time period sufficient to initiate an exothermic reaction within the mixture. After the time period, the exothermically reacting mixture is allowed to cure to form the polyurethane solid. The curing may occur in a mold, i.e. by pouring or injecting the mixture into the mold. Alternatively, the mixture may be sprayed on to a surface and allowed to cure.

  • Publication number: 20170227180
Abstract: Disclosed is a laser-based device for use primarily for laser light effects. The laser device comprises multiple red, green, and blue lasers. Each laser has a lens to collimate and focus each individual beam. The lasers are aligned such that each laser shares a common output axis. The intensity of each laser is adjustable thereby allowing the overall output color of the device to change. The overall output has over 16 million colors. Each laser-based device has a gimbal-like system to allow the devices change theft orientation. A remote control system allows for the control and synchronization of multiple devices. Multiple devices may connect to the remote control system using cables, wireless transceivers, or both. Multiple devices may be located in close proximity to create a more powerful overall output beam. The remote control system allows for viewer interaction through an application installed onto a personal communication device.

  • Publication number: 20170191389
Abstract: A system to change the oil from above the hood includes a reversible motor connected to the oil system, preferably the sump drain. The pump is further connected to a container. The pump initially draws the oil from the oil sump and directs it into an empty container. A full container of oil is then connected to the pump, which is then reversed, pumping the oil new oil into the engine's oil sump. Alternately, the system can be directed to and from the existing oil filter connection.

  • Publication number: 20170091427
Abstract: An estimate of a target sequence of polymer units is generated from a series of measurements taken by a measurement system comprising nanopores during translocation of the polymer through a nanopore. A global model of the measurement system is stored, comprising transition weightings for possible transitions between k-mers on which successive measurements are dependent and emission weightings for possible values of measurements being observed when the measurement is dependent on possible identities of k-mer. The global model is adjusted, making reference to measurements taken using the measurement system such that the fit of the measurements to the adjusted model is improved. The estimate of a target sequence of polymer units is generated using the adjusted model. The adjustment of the model improves the quality of the estimation.

  • Publication number: 20160379640
Abstract: The embodiments described herein can provide improved reliability and accuracy of communication to and from and aircraft, such as aircraft-to-aircraft communication and aircraft-to-air traffic control (ATC) communication. In particular, the systems and methods can improve the reliability and accuracy of aircraft communication by performing voice-to-text conversions on voice communications and performing a validation check on the resulting voice-to-text converted message. This validation check determines a measure of validation for the voice-to-text converted message. In one embodiment, the voice-to-text converted message can be displayed to a user with a visual indicator of the measure of validation. Thus, the user can be made aware of the measure of validation when viewing the voice-to-text converted message.

  • Patent number: 9525323
Abstract: An energy harvester system including a primary energy collector (PEC), a cam gear ring, multiple secondary energy collectors (SEC), and a central gear is provided. The PEC and the SECs harness ambient motion energy. The PEC is attached to a support base member. The cam gear ring is operably engaged to the PEC and rotated by the PEC. The SECs are positioned in a space defined by the cam gear ring and rotated on receiving ambient motion energy. One SEC is unclamped from the support base member and slides towards the central gear when the cam gear ring contacts the SEC, while the other SECs are clamped on the support base member. The central gear operably engages with the unclamped SEC that slid towards the central gear and rotates with the unclamped SEC. The rotating central gear can be coupled to different power generating devices for generating electrical energy.
