    Abstract: Examples of a probe for microwave ablation are disclosed. The probe comprises a feed coaxial cable and an antenna that has a cylindrical outer housing with a predetermined diameter and a predetermined length defining a cavity therein and a radiating conductor positioned within the cavity with a matching stepped portion. The antenna further comprises a dielectric material placed in the cavity between the radiating conductor and the outer housing of the antenna to increase the mechanical strength of the probe as well as to improve the power coupling to the tissue to be ablated. The design of the coaxial cavity of the antenna with radiating conductor with a stepped portion fitted into dielectric materials increases antenna's mechanical strength to withstand higher temperatures and reduces an energy reflected back to the feed coaxial cable due to a good impedance match between the antenna and the feed cable such that antennas with smaller length can be used to fit curved paths.

    Abstract: An example electronic device includes a controller to determine a user touch detection by a power adaptor coupled to the electronic device to operate the electronic device in an AC power mode. The power adaptor may comprise a proximity sensor to detect a user touch for detachment of the power adaptor from the electronic device, and a control circuit to operate a configuration pin in a low output mode to signal user touch detection. The controller may initiate central processing unit (CPU) throttling to reduce power consumption by the electronic device. The controller may further stop CPU throttling in response to detecting that the power adaptor has been detached from the electronic device. Further, the controller may switch the electronic device to a DC power mode to operate using DC power supplied by a battery of the electronic device in response to power adaptor detachment.

An emission window of the antenna is at least partially located in the conduit to enable the cooling medium to cool the emission window area of the antenna. The conduit of the microwave emission area is made of an insulation material, so that the microwave can radiate outward, and the rest of the conduit is made of a microwave shielding material. The choke ring located at the rear side of emission area is hermetically fixed to the conduit, so that the choke ring acts to block the microwave. A gap exists between the choke ring and the needle bar, and the gap is used for the backflow of the cooling medium.
