  • Publication number: 20160061474
Abstract: The invention comprises systems and methods for ramping setpoints on thermostats controlling HVAC systems. At least one thermostat is located inside a structure and is used to control an HVAC system in the structure. At least one remote processor is in communication with said thermostat and at least one database stores data reported by the thermostat. At least one processor compares the outside temperature at at least one location and at least one point in time to information reported to the remote processor from the thermostat. The remote processor ramps the setpoint on the thermostat so as to reduce the average spread between inside temperature and outside temperature in order to reduce energy consumption with affecting comfort. The remote processor takes into account the effect of weather conditions and occupant preferences in determining whether and when to ramp setpoints.

  • Publication number: 20160065636
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for flight simulators that share video via peering networks. One embodiment includes a flight tracking controller and connection controller. The flight tracking controller receives static images that represent video feeds from a plurality of flight simulators, transmits the static images to a monitoring entity, and receives a response from the monitoring entity selecting a video feed represented by a static image from a flight simulator. The response identifies multiple candidate paths for streaming the selected video feed from the flight simulator to the monitoring entity across a packet switched network. The connection controller forwards the response to the flight simulator, receives a confirmation from the flight simulator that confirms one of the candidate paths, and forwards the confirmation to the monitoring entity in order to establish a peer-to-peer connection for streaming the selected video feed directly between the flight simulator and the monitoring entity.

  • Patent number: 9277057
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for dynamically signaling encoder capabilities of vocoders of corresponding communication nodes. In one embodiment, during a call between a first communication node and a second communication node, a control node (e.g., base station controller or mobile switching center) for the first communication node sends capability information for a voice encoder of a vocoder of the first communication node to a control node for the second communication node. As a result, the second communication node is enabled to select and request a preferred encoder mode for the voice encoder of the vocoder of the first communication node based on the capabilities of the voice encoder of the vocoder of the first communication node.

  • Patent number: 9276610
Abstract: The architecture is able to switch to Non-blocking check-node-update (CNU) scheduling architecture which has better performance than blocking CNU scheduling architecture. The architecture uses an Offset Min-Sum with Beta=1 with a clock domain operating at 440 MHz. The constraint macro-matrix is a spare matrix where each “1’ corresponds to a sub-array of a cyclically shifted identity matrix which is a shifted version of an identity matrix. Four core processors are used in the layered architecture where the constraint matrix uses a sub-array of 42 (check nodes)×42 (variable nodes) in the macro-array of 168×672 bits. Pipeline processing is used where the delay for each layer only requires 4 clock cycles.

  • Publication number: 20160057172
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for performing a distributed control of end-to-end media on packet networks such as Voice over Internet Protocol and Service over Internet Protocol networks are disclosed. The method first receives a request from a first media endpoint device for opening at least one media channel to a second media endpoint device wherein said request contains a descriptor of said first media endpoint device. The method then updates one or more slot states and link states in response to said request and records the current state of each slot for supporting said media channel. The method also records the most recently received descriptor of said media endpoint device as a most recent descriptor for said slot supporting said media channel. The method executes one or more link objects in response to said request for controlling said at least one media channel.

  • Publication number: 20160055035
Abstract: A method for scheduling a plurality of resources for processing a plurality of requests is provided. The method sorts the requests, each specifying a priority and one or more resources that process the request, in parallel based on the priorities. The method initializes an output set to an empty set and filters out any request that has a resource conflict with a current highest priority request, adds the current highest priority request to the output set and determines whether one or more requests of the plurality of requests, other than the requests added to the output set, are not filtered out. Responsive to determining that the one or more requests are not filtered out, repeating filtering, adding, and determining by using a highest priority request of the one or more requests as a current highest priority request. The method causes the assigned resources to process the output set of requests in parallel.

  • Publication number: 20160056764
Abstract: LO leakage and Image are common and undesirable effects in typical transmitters. Typically, thirty complex hardware and algorithms are used to calibrate and reduce these two impairments. A single transistor that draws essentially no de current and occupies a very small area, is used to detect the LO leakage and Image Rejection signals. The single transistor operating as a square law device, is used to mix the signals at the input and output ports of the power amplifier (PA). The mixed signal generated by the single transistor enables the simultaneous calibration of the LO leakage and Image Rejection.
