  • Patent number: 6034894
Abstract: In a NAND cell type of EEPROM memory which has an STI (Shallow Trench Isolation) structure and uses memory cells into which two- or more-value data can be rewritten through the use of floating channel writing techniques, a plurality of floating gate electrodes are formed above the surface of an Si substrate with a tunnel oxide interposed therebetween. Trenches are formed in portions of the surface of the Si substrate each of which is located between floating gate electrodes arranged in one direction. In each trench, a conductive material is buried to form a buried electrode which is externally impressed with a low voltage. This boots the channel potential of nonselected cells, preventing erroneous writing without increasing the cost per bit.

  • Patent number: 5968272
Abstract: An image forming substance removing apparatus for preventing an unstabilizing liquid from being excessively applied to a sheet material unnecessarily, preventing a bad state of transporting the sheet material, and not requiring a long time for drying the sheet material is provided. In the above-mentioned apparatus, an unstabilizing liquid supplying unit applies the unstabilizing liquid to the transfer material and is constructed with an applying roller for pumping up the unstabilizing liquid by an action of its rotation, a restriction roller for bringing the applying roller into contact with the transfer paper, and others. And further, in order to move the restriction roller between a position of coming into contact with the applying roller and a position of departing therefrom, a tip end sensor for sensing the tip end of the transfer paper, a spring, and a solenoid, etc. are provided in the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5896612
Abstract: In a method and an apparatus for removing an image forming substance such as toner from an image holding member such as a transfer paper sheet, the toner on the transfer paper sheet is heated to be melted or softened. An offset belt having adhesive force stronger than that between the transfer paper sheet and the toner comes in contact with the toner. The toner is separated and removed from the transfer paper sheet when the offset belt and the transfer paper sheet are separated from each other. Heating of the toner is maintained until the transfer paper sheet is separated from the offset belt. The transfer paper sheet is separated from the offset belt before the toner is cooled and solidified. A toner heating maintaining device is constructed by using a heating-supporting member having a heater therein and arranged such that the transfer paper sheet and the offset belt are supported between the heating-supporting member and a heating roller.

  • Patent number: 5716036
Abstract: A mounting structure for mounting a polygon mirror on a rotating body includes a mirror seat formed in the rotating body for mounting the polygon mirror thereon and a fixing device for fixing the polygon mirror on the mirror seat. The mirror seat is formed on the periphery of the rotating body, and the polygon mirror includes in a top surface thereof an annular groove of a rectangular section at a position thereof a predetermined radius from the center of rotation of the rotating body. The fixing device comprises a planar ring-shaped anchoring member fixed to the rotating body and having along a peripheral portion thereof a plurality of downwardly extending conical or semispherical projections. The projections of the anchoring member engage with the annular groove in the polygon mirror and press against the upper edge of the inner periphery of the groove by point contact to thereby fix the polygon mirror in position.

  • Patent number: 5597456
Abstract: A plastic tube extruded from an extruder is conveyed through a plasma treatment apparatus. The plasma treatment apparatus is equipped with a tubular electrode body having a high-voltage side electrode and a grounded-side electrode disposed on a tubular insulator and a high frequency electric power source connected to the electrodes. When the plastic tube is conveyed through the electrode body with one end of the tube open to the atmosphere, a mixture of a glow discharge-stabilizing gas and a treating gas is fed into the other end of the tube and an alternating-current high-voltage is applied to generate a plasma region at a pressure near to atmospheric pressure in which the tube is treated with a glow discharge plasma. This method allows an interior and/or exterior surface of a plastic tube designed to convey a medical fluid to be continuously treated by a glow discharge plasma at atmospheric pressure to form an anti-thrombotic and blood-compatible film on the surface treated.

  • Patent number: 5357162
Abstract: A spindle motor with an H-type pneumatic dynamic bearing has a high durability against repeated starts and stops of rotation. The H-type bearing is composed of a radial bearing member, thrust plates firmly fixed to opposite ends of the radial bearing member and a cylindrical radial sleeve, which form a radial pneumatic dynamic bearing and thrust pneumatic dynamic bearings. A stator core is fixedly secured around a rotary member, which is in turn fixedly secured around the cylindrical radial sleeve. A total thrust clearance a+a' of the thrust bearings is represented by an inequality of (a+a')/A< 2.5/10.sup.4 based on a sliding surface diameter A of each thrust plate, a and total radial clearance b+b' of the radial bearing is represented by an inequality of (b+b')/B<5/10.sup.4 based on a sliding surface diameter B of the radial bearing member.
