  • Publication number: 20080137731
Abstract: The present invention makes it possible to include, when encoding processing is applied to three color components using a 4:0:0 format, data for one picture in one access unit and makes it possible to set the same time information or the same set encoding modes among the respective color components. In an image encoding system for applying compression processing to an input image signal including a plurality of color components, encoded data obtained by independently subjecting an input image signal of each of the color components to encoding processing and a parameter indicating which color component the encoded data corresponds to are multiplexed with a bit stream. In an image decoding system for inputting a bit stream in which an image signal including a plurality of color components is compressed to perform decoding processing, decoding processing of the encoded data of each of the color components is performed using a parameter indicating which color component the encoded data corresponds to.

  • Patent number: 7310628
Abstract: User information from a terminal is input to a user information inputting section 8, retrieval keys are input to a retrieval key inputting section 7 and retrieval demanding signal is input to a user demand inputting section 6. A content retrieving section 10 searches a database B based upon the retrieval keys and outputs a retrieval result list to a retrieval result list editing section 11. A terminal ability information acquiring section 9 acquires information about processing ability of the terminal from the user information input to the user information inputting section 8 and the retrieval result list editing section 11 edits the retrieval result list from the content retrieving section 10 based upon its processing ability information, and on the other hand, an output content editing section 13 edits the contents based upon the terminal ability information, and then both sections delivers through their delivering sections 12, 14 to the terminal, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20070168046
Abstract: An apparatus has not been configured without accompanying entirely changing and revising the system LSI when the specification of the apparatus or the system LSI configuring the apparatus is changed, and also, development cost has not been able to be reduced and development period has not been able to be shortened. An image information apparatus is realized in which new functions are easy to be added into the image information apparatus without need for development of a new system LSI for each model, by installing into the image information apparatus a ubiquitous image module having configurational elements such as a hardware engine, CPU, and general-purpose bus for realizing functions that have not been provided on the image information apparatus itself, and also including an OS for operating the configurational elements.

  • Patent number: 7215710
Abstract: The input image controller reduces the frame rate of a motion image signal as a preprocessing, provides process information indicating the skipped frames and/or skipped fields to the image coder, wherein the image coder codes, by use of the MPEG 2 method, the motion image signal whose frame rate has been reduced, and outputs the data which is in conformity with the MPEG 2 method and includes overhead information on the basis of the process information.

  • Patent number: 7177358
Abstract: A picture analyzer detects coding difficulty information by analyzing the source picture data. A picture converter converts the format of the source picture data using spatial conversion or temporal conversion, or both. A coding unit then codes the converted picture data output from the picture converter. A preprocess controller controls the picture converter based on the coding difficulty information, selecting either spatial conversion or temporal conversion, or both. The resulting encoded picture features visually outstanding image quality in which block distortion is not conspicuous, and the coding unit avoids using a coarser than necessary quantization step even when the bit rate is low.

  • Publication number: 20070014354
Abstract: A segmenting section divides an input image into a plurality of segments. A hierarchizing section determines classes of the respective segments according to a predetermined criterion, and produces a class identification signal indicating the classes of the respective segments. A coding section encodes the segmented image signal into code data while changing the value of a coding control parameter for each of the segments in accordance with the class identification signal. Examples of the coding control parameter are a coding time interval and precision of quantization.

  • Patent number: 7110456
Abstract: A method and a video decoder for decoding an encoded bitstream of video data in a picture encoding and decoding system are disclosed. The video decoder includes a motion compensation unit for calculating a position for a sample image portion using an encoded bitstream of video data having a motion vector and rounding information. The calculated position of a sample image is rounded with the rounding information. The rounding information indicates the accuracy for rounding, and it is decoded from the bitstream. An image reconstruction unit reconstructs a decoded image portion of the video data from the sample image portion.
