  • Publication number: 20170171835
Abstract: A method performed by a network node is provided. The network node and a user equipment, UE, operate in a communications network. The network node configures (302) the UE to report information indicating whether the UE is located indoors or outdoors. After receiving (303) a message from the UE which message comprises the information indicating whether the UE is located indoors or outdoors, the network node decides (304) whether the UE is located indoors or outdoors based on the received indication. The deciding enables the network node to provide network support in the communications network based on whether the UE is located indoors or outdoors.

  • Patent number: 9578524
Abstract: A method for detecting a malfunction in a cell of a telecommunication network is disclosed. The cell is adapted to serve a plurality of user devices identified by user identities and to handle signaling and/or data traffic between the network and the user devices. A lack of traffic is detected in the cell. Further, at least one user identity which identifies a user device is selected. The selected user device is served by the cell. Then a paging message is sent to the user device which is identified by the at least one selected user identity. Finally the malfunction of the cell is validated in case no response message is sent by the user device to said paging message.

  • Publication number: 20160269949
Abstract: A method in a network node for determining a measure of a downlink interference in a wireless communications network. The downlink interference comprises a first interference in one or more first user equipments in a first cell served by a first base station. The respective interference originates from a second base station when the second base station communicates with one or more second user equipments in a second cell. The network node obtains a first metric representing a count of the second cell as the strongest interfering cell for the one or more first user equipments in the first cell based on a respective information from the one or more first user equipments. The respective information indicates a strongest interfering cell for the respective first user equipment. The network node determines a measure of the downlink interference, based on the first metric.

  • Patent number: 9351132
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards providing event-triggered communication in a half duplex communication environment of a wireless communication network (10). A first end terminal (12) sends a selection of an end terminal (14) in a group of terminals to act as an event notifying device to a server (22). The event notifying device (14) compares an event with a threshold and sends an event notifier to the server if the event exceeds the threshold. If it receives the event notifier, the server prioritises data from the event notifying device over ongoing communication sessions for other devices in the group, receives data from the event notifying device associated with the event notifier and transports data indicative of the event to other devices of the group, in order to inform them of the event.
