Abstract: A door assembly is shown and described herein. The door assembly may include at least one door panel and a door frame having a plurality of frame members including a header and a mullion. The invention may also be considered a frame member. The frame member may be a mullion and include a core; and a two-piece top piece adjoining the core to form a structural member. The door assembly may further include at least one adjacent panel. The inventions disclosed are also applicable to jambs and window structures. Also disclosed are methods and assemblies for a mullion door frame members.

Abstract: A protective device and method for protection of a door frame member and/or door assembly. The protective device may include a body portion and an adjoining flange portion. The body portion may include a free side and a corner side running parallel to each other and may form an L-shaped device. The flange may include guide slot openings for placement of a fastener through the openings. The body portion may have a substantially planar top and a curved bottom with reduced portions forming attachment areas for securing the protective device removably to a door assembly.

Abstract: A doorsill for forming the bottom of an entryway. The doorsill has a substrate to be disposed above a subfloor and a lifter provided on the substrate capable of extending from a bottom of the substrate. The lifter is adjustable to change the orientation or position of the bottom relative to the subfloor.

The door panel also includes a pair of opposing skins on respective faces of the frame. The first stile includes a channel along a length thereof on an interior longitudinal surface of the first stile.

Abstract: A shipping system for a pre-hung door having a door panel hinged to a frame. The shipping system includes a bracket configured to wrap at least partially around a portion of the frame, the bracket having a first leg for extending between the door panel and the frame. The first leg may include an opening passing therethrough. The opening is intended to align with an edge bore of the door panel and with a catch bore in the frame. The shipping system also includes a door plug for insertion into a face bore of the door panel to reside at least partially within the edge bore of the door panel. The door plug is designed to releasably engage the opening of the bracket by rotation of the door plug. The bracket is removable from the pre-hung door after the pre-hung door is installed in a rough opening.

Abstract: A doorsill having a substrate, a dam, and a sill deck is described. The dam is removably attached to the substrate to extend upwardly therefrom. The sill deck is removably attached to the substrate and removably attached to the dam. The dam has a vertical wall, and a lower portion of the vertical wall engages the substrate.

The tool may also include at least one tongue extending from the base in a direction opposite the at least one spacer. The at least one tongue may be positioned between a weather strip and a face of the door frame so that the tool can remain in place when the door panel is open relative to the door frame.

The main latch has a latched position where the main latch is configured to extend a first distance from an unhinged edge of a door panel. The main latch is configured to be retractable toward the unhinged edge of the door panel by rotation of a latch drive hub in each of a clockwise direction and a counterclockwise direction relative to a first side of the door panel. The multipoint lock also includes at least one auxiliary latch and a deadbolt drive hub. Rotation of the deadbolt drive hub substantially simultaneously actuates the main latch and the at least one auxiliary latch.

The retainers include a retention portion configured to engage an entryway component and a mounting portion configured for placement onto the astragal body in a direction normal to the major axis. The retention portion is either a void for receiving at least one of a latch and a deadbolt, or the retention portion is a bolt pin configured to engage an entryway frame.

Abstract: A bolt assembly for securing a passive door panel relative to an entryway frame. The bolt assembly has a base to be fixedly mounted relative to the passive door panel, a catch attached to the base with a leaf spring to deflect relative to the base, and a bolt which is able to translate relative to the base between a retracted position and an extended position for securing the passive door panel. The bolt is biased toward the extended position and selectively maintained in the retracted position by the catch.
