  • Patent number: 7248385
Abstract: A printer server is connected to a plurality of terminals. The printer server includes a terminal status detecting unit that receives a piece of operation information ‘key’ indicating that a operation has been performed from each terminal, measures an elapsed time since each piece of operation information ‘key’ was received by referring to a timer, and sets a non-operational status ‘status’ for each terminal according to the length of the elapsed time, a priority determining unit that determines a priority level from the non-operational status ‘status’, and a print job processing unit that has print job processing performed by, when a plurality of print jobs are waiting to be processed, giving preference to print jobs transmitted from terminals with higher priority levels.

  • Publication number: 20060232795
Abstract: When a log-in is accepted at an image processing apparatus (for example, an MFP), a user terminal logged-in with the same log-in information is searched for, and information related to applications being active on that terminal is obtained. An interaction processing key indicative of an application related to a basic function selected as a function to be used is displayed out of the applications. When the user selects the interaction processing key to execute the desired processing, the MFP requests a job to the user terminal to execute the processing interactively with the corresponding application.

  • Publication number: 20060098224
Abstract: To provide a system in which image data created in an image processor is processed in association with an application activated on a user terminal. The system includes an image processor, and a user terminal connected with the image processor over a network. The image processor includes: an activated application identifying unit for obtaining information about an application activated on the user terminal; a one-touch key generating unit for generating a one-touch key including information for processing image data by the application activated on the user terminal; and a transmission unit for transmitting the image data to the user terminal. The user terminal includes: a receiving unit for receiving the image data from the image processor; and a one-touch key processing unit for processing the image data by the application activated on the user terminal, based on the information of the one-touch key.

  • Patent number: 6671410
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a sort unit for sorting original image data into edge image data and planar image data, a first coding unit for coding the sorted planar image data according to the fractal block coding method, and a second coding unit for coding the sorted edge image data according to a coding method differing from the fractal block coding method. Thus, an image processing apparatus is provided that can have picture quality of a reproduced image improved even for a block that has maximum density difference such as an edge portion.
