  • Publication number: 20140019624
Abstract: In order to effectively use the resources on a network, there is provided a management server (200) for selecting each resource of a resource information table (211) as a test resource, if the extraction probability for each resource is equal to or greater than the random numbers probability generated by a random number generation part (221), forming a test server by combining the selected resources, performing the job by using the formed test server, and applying the test server as the server of the particular network if the execution result of the job meets the job determination method.

  • Publication number: 20140019667
Abstract: The present invention is provided with: computers provided with a processor, a memory, and an I/O interface; an I/O switch for connecting a plurality of the computers with an I/O adapter; a management computer for managing the I/O switch and the computers; and a first network for connecting the computers with the management computer. The I/O switch has a dedicated adaptor connected to the management computer. The management computer selects from the plurality of computers a computer for performing data transfer, commands the I/O switch to connect the I/O interface of the selected computer and the dedicated adaptor, transfers data between the selected computer, senses that data transfer with the selected computer has been completed, and commands the I/O switch to disconnect the dedicated adaptor from the I/O interface of the selected computer after completion of the data transfer with the selected computer has been sensed.

  • Publication number: 20130283367
Abstract: A method of managing a virtual computer in a computer system including a plurality of computers, each of the computer storing a program for realizing a virtualization management module for managing a virtual computer, including a management storage area that is accessible only by the virtualization management module, storing start-up management information representing a correspondence among identification information on the virtual computer, identification information on a logical storage area storing a service program, and start-up authentication information for starting the virtual computer. The method including: a step of referring to the start-up management information to determine whether the start-up authentication information corresponding to the virtual computer exists, in a case of receiving a start-up request; a step of reading the service program from the logical storage area and executing the read service program, in a case of being determined the start-up authentication information exists.

  • Publication number: 20130268695
Abstract: A computer system includes an I/O switch connected to a computer and changing connections between the computer and I/O devices, and a management server for managing configuration of the I/O devices. The management server, with respect to existing I/O devices connected to the I/O switch, stores information representing logical configuration of the existing I/O devices recognized by an OS of the computer and information representing physical configuration of the existing I/O devices managed by the I/O switch in the memory, The management server, upon receipt of a notice indicating a change in the configuration of the existing I/O devices from the I/O switch, changes the physical configuration of the existing I/O devices after the change in the configuration to be matched with the logical configuration of the existing I/O devices and instructs the I/O switch to change the connections in accordance with the changed physical configuration.

  • Publication number: 20130238804
Abstract: A computer system, comprising: a plurality of physical computers; and a management server for managing the plurality of physical computers, wherein at least one virtual computer operates on each of the plurality of physical computers, wherein the at least one virtual computer executes at least one piece of service processing including at least one piece of sub processing, wherein the management server is configured to calculate a required resource amount which is a resource amount of a computer resource required for the virtual computer subject to the migration based on used resource amount for the each of the plurality of the pieces of sub processing; search for a physical computer of a migration destination; and migrate the virtual computer subject to the migration to the physical computer of the migration destination.

  • Publication number: 20040143664
Abstract: In accordance with a policy to dynamically reallocate a computer resource to a plurality of virtual machine LPARs (Logical Partitions), optimum quantities of resource allocation are determined so that the virtual machine LPARs will hardly have resource shortages in the near future. A resource management server collects states of resource utilizations of the virtual machine LPARs and, then, forecasts next states of resource utilizations of the virtual machine LPARs on the basis of the collected states of resource utilizations. Subsequently, the resource management server computes coefficients of correlation among the virtual machine LPARs with respect to the resource utilizations of the virtual machine LPARs on the basis of execution histories of the virtual machine LPARs.
