  • Publication number: 20240109452
Abstract: An ECU includes a processor that controls transmission and reception of signals between a vehicle and a charging facility in accordance with a communication sequence defined in a charging standard. The processor transmits, to the charging facility, a regular signal for obtaining a charging permission from the charging facility, prior to a start of electric power supply from the charging facility to the vehicle. The processor starts charging control of a battery by the electric power supply from the charging facility, when the charging permission is obtained, and transmits, to the charging facility, a retry signal in which a part of the regular signal is modified in order to retry to obtain the charging permission, when the charging permission is not obtained.

  • Patent number: 11780341
Abstract: A charging inlet, to which a charging connector provided external to a vehicle is connected, includes a housing and a terminal unit provided in the housing. The terminal unit includes a first DC pin, a second DC pin, a first communication pin, a second communication pin, and a ground pin. The housing includes a blocking member. When an AC/DC charging connector complying with CCS and supporting AC charging and DC charging is to be connected to the charging inlet, blocking members interfere with at least one of a first AC terminal, a second AC terminal, a third AC terminal, and a neutral point terminal that are provided in the AC/DC charging connector, to block connection between the AC/DC charging connector and the charging inlet.

  • Publication number: 20220368140
Abstract: A charging controller carries out charging control of a power storage mounted on a vehicle. The vehicle includes a DC charging inlet. The charging controller carries out first charging control when a charging cable which is not a prescribed charging cable is connected to the DC charging inlet and carries out second charging control when the prescribed charging cable is connected to the DC charging inlet. For example, a time period for ground fault detection carried out during charging of the power storage is set differently between first charging control and second charging control. Alternatively, a response delay margin of a charging command is set differently between first charging control and second charging control.

  • Publication number: 20220247191
Abstract: A portable charger includes: an AC input unit; a DC output unit; a power conversion circuit; and a controller. The DC output unit includes a start switch. When the start switch is operated by a user, the start switch instructs the controller to control the power conversion circuit such that the DC output unit outputs DC power. However, when at least one of the AC input unit and the DC output unit is unconnected, the start switch is disabled.

  • Patent number: 11214165
Abstract: An ECU executes a charge preparation communication sequence after a connector is connected to an inlet and before external charging is performed, and counts a response time (message transmission and reception time) of a charging station to a prescribed event. A memory stores a message transmission and reception time of a specific charging station. The ECU does not perform external charging when the message transmission and reception time counted during the charge preparation communication sequence is equal to the message transmission and reception time stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 11135935
Abstract: An ECU included in a vehicle performs a first charging control when a minimum output voltage of a direct-current (DC) charger obtained through an information exchange process is less than or equal to a lower limit charging voltage for a power storage device, and performs a second charging control when the minimum output voltage is higher than the lower limit charging voltage of the power storage device. In the second charging control, initially, the ECU electrically connects a pre-charge circuit to a charging path from the DC charger to the power storage device, starts DC charging, and checks a voltage that is actually applied from the DC charger to the vehicle. If a voltage applied from the DC charger to the vehicle is a value corresponding to the voltage of the power storage device, the ECU permits the DC charging and performs the first charging control.
