Publication number: 20150143356Abstract: An architecture allows individual system components to be developed and tested individually, i.e., as distinct modules, and to be subsequently combined through standardized electrical and communication interfaces. Any combination of these modules can be implemented to form different products that provide any number of functions, such as an integrated system for monitoring a health condition and/or delivering a medication. The architecture also provides an approach for dynamically updating the product and offering its users the latest generation of technology even after the users have already purchased the product. In particular, the embodiments employ the communication interfaces to also provide connection to a remote network that can update or upgrade the product's software when the product is out in the field.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 28, 2015Publication date: May 21, 2015Inventors: Steven Charlton, Jun Chen, Lin Chen, Qiang Fu, Igor Gofman, Steven B. Harris, Gary J. Johnson, Paul L. Inman, Qiong Li, Harris Lieber, Derek Lok, Tony Nguyen, Paul M. Ripley, Gregory Stefkovic, Hoi-Cheong Steve Sun

Patent number: 8977029Abstract: A method and system for multi-atlas segmentation brain structures and vessel territories in a brain computed tomography (CT) image is disclosed. Each of a plurality of atlas images is individually registered to an input brain CT image, resulting in a plurality of warped atlas images. A region of interest is defined based on labeled brain structures in each of the plurality of warped atlas images. For each atlas image, a respective sum of squared difference (SSD) value is calculated between the corresponding warped atlas image and the brain CT image within the region of interest defined for the corresponding warped atlas image. A number of the atlas images are selected based on the SSD values calculated for the atlas images. The brain structures and vessel territories are segmented in the brain CT image using only the selected atlas images.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2013Date of Patent: March 10, 2015Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Kaifang Du, Li Zhang, Tony Nguyen, Vincent Ordy, Heinz Fichte, Hendrik Ditt

Publication number: 20140090785Abstract: A dual tape dispenser and method of dispensing reversed-conjoined tapes which includes housing panels configured with two rotatable tape-roll hubs mounted perpendicularly to the vertical housing panels to hold two rolls of tapes with one of the tapes is reversed so that an adhesive edge of the first tape is conjoined longitudinally to a reversed adhesive edge of the second tape when the tape ends are being dispensed simultaneously on the same path. A plurality of configurations for the dual tape dispenser dispensing reversed-conjoined tapes may be manufactured for use with tape bore openings ranging from three inches to one inch in diameter for scaled-down versions to accommodate smaller tape rolls in all of which the dispensers are for dispensing reversed-conjoined tapes that are partially and longitudinally overlapped on the inside edges, thus exposing the remain adhesive portion on each side of the reversed-conjoined tapes.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2012Publication date: April 3, 2014Inventor: Trung Tony Nguyen

Publication number: 20130055311Abstract: A method and system incorporate information on a stored content service feature with on screen display content utilizing a content receiver. The stored content service feature enables the content receiver to simultaneously record multiple of instances of content for a plurality of programming channels during a timeframe. The content receiver generates on screen display content as an overlay to live or previously recorded instances of content or as an electronic programming guide, and the information for the stored content service feature incorporated within the on screen display content may be selected. In response to the selection, the content receiver may transmit a previously recorded instance of content from the plurality of simultaneously recorded instances of content, information for instances of content that have been, will be and/or are available to be recorded in connection with the stored content service feature.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2011Publication date: February 28, 2013Applicant: EchoStar Technologies L.L.C.Inventors: Morgan Hayden Kirby, Kristen Leigh Swanson, Karen Taxier, Neil Thomas Marten, Luke VanDuyn, Tony Nguyen

Publication number: 20120076149Abstract: A bandwidth limiting circuit provides limiting the bandwidth of a group of virtual channels at a transmitting port to a maximum value. A limiting circuit includes a register that is repeatedly incremented with a threshold value, which threshold value is related to the desired maximum bandwidth for the group. The register is decremented by the frame length, in bytes, of the frame transmitted from one of the virtual channels belonging to the group. A comparator enables frame transmission for the group if the register value is greater than zero. A bandwidth guarantee circuit provides at least the bandwidth specified by the limiting circuit. The guarantee circuit enables one of the groups for frame transmission based on a fairness algorithm when the outputs of comparators of each of the limiting circuit are low.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 23, 2010Publication date: March 29, 2012Applicant: BROCADE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS, INC.Inventors: Kung-Ling Ko, Tony Nguyen, Venkata Pramod Balakavi
