  • Patent number: 10433176
Abstract: Methods, devices, communication systems, and computer program products for discarding a duplicate protocol data unit associated with a data transmission via a first signaling radio bearer or a second signaling radio bearer are described. A method for discarding a duplicate protocol data unit associated with a data transmission via a first signaling radio bearer or a second signaling radio bearer is performed by a device. The method includes receiving a protocol data unit, verifying an integrity of the received protocol data unit in an integrity verification procedure, determining whether the successfully integrity verified protocol data unit is a duplicate protocol data unit, and discarding the protocol data unit based on determining that the successfully integrity verified protocol data unit is a duplicate protocol data unit.

  • Publication number: 20190289624
Abstract: A scheduling node (110) transmits, to a radio node (105) configured for sub-subframe operation, a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration message (210) configuring the radio node (105) for sub-subframe-based SPS. The SPS configuration message (210) comprises an identifier of the radio node (105) and indicates a pattern of sub-subframes (82) in which a resource allocation for the radio node (105) repeats. The radio node (105) receives the SPS configuration message (210) and configures the radio node (105) for sub-subframe-based SPS according to the SPS configuration message (210).

  • Publication number: 20190289618
Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method is disclosed for use in a wireless device. The method comprises transmitting uplink data to a network node. The uplink data is transmitted according to a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration obtained from the network node. The uplink data is transmitted without transmitting padding when no data is available for transmission. The method further comprises retransmitting the uplink data to the network node until receiving an indication to transmit new uplink data. The indication is received from the network node via a control channel.

  • Publication number: 20190280819
Abstract: A transmitting radio node (12) is configured for transmitting packets in a wireless communication system (10). The transmitting radio node (12) in particular is configured to transmit packets to a receiving radio node (16) as scheduled by the receiving radio node (16) over one or more of multiple different types of radio links (18, 20) between which transmission of the packets is configured to be split or switched. The transmitting radio node (12) is also configured to receive from the receiving radio node (16) a retransmission link indication (40) that indicates over which of the multiple different types of radio links (18, 20) packet retransmission is to be performed. The transmitting radio node (12) is further configured to perform packet retransmission based on the retransmission link indication (40).

  • Publication number: 20190268927
Abstract: A wireless device for handling uplink (UL) communication from the wireless device in a wireless communication network is configured with one or more Semi Persistent Scheduling (SPS) grants and to skip padding transmissions of SPS grant. The wireless device receives a dynamic UL grant indicating one or more resources for an UL transmission. The wireless device determines whether a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) buffer for transmission of a previous transmission comprises data, which HARQ buffer is associated with a same HARQ process as the dynamic UL grant. Furthermore, the wireless device transmits the data in the HARQ buffer using one or more resources as indicated by the dynamic UL grant or as indicated by the SPS grant when the HARQ buffer comprises data, and transmits new UL data using the one or more resources as indicated by the dynamic UL grant when the HARQ buffer comprises no data.

  • Publication number: 20190215891
Abstract: A UE operating in a network that supports dual connectivity operation is configured to minimize the transmission of unnecessary UE failure indications. The UE detects secondary cell group (SCG) failure for the UE, in response to detecting one of a plurality of SCG failure-triggering events. The UE sends a UE failure indication message, in response to the detecting SCG failure, and refrains from sending further UE failure indication messages in response to SCG failure-triggering events, until the sending of further UE failure indication messages is reenabled. In some cases, the UE sets a state of the UE to a UE prohibit state to prohibit sending further UE failure indication messages while in the UE prohibit state. In other cases, the UE starts a prohibit timer to prohibit sending further UE failure indication messages during the prohibit timer.

  • Patent number: 10334621
Abstract: Depending on data (110) available in an uplink data buffer (400) of a communication device (10) for uplink transmission and further depending on uplink radio resources previously allocated to the communication device (10) for the uplink transmission in reoccurring time intervals, a fraction (111-1) of the data (110) available in the uplink data buffer (400) is determined. A buffer status report is sent to the cellular network. The buffer status report indicates the determined fraction (111-1) of the data (110).

  • Publication number: 20190132897
Abstract: According to an aspect, a UE in an uplink split-bearer configuration is configured to transmit PDUs by a first RLC entity via a first uplink transmission path and/or by a second RLC entity via a second uplink transmission path. The UE determines a total amount of data volume from PDCP data volume and RLC data volume pending for initial transmission in the two RLC entities. The UE decides whether submission of PDCP data volume is allowed to either of the two RLC entities or to only the first RLC entity, based on whether the total amount of data volume meets or exceeds a first threshold. The UE also reports the PDCP data volume to both the first and second uplink transmission paths or only the first uplink transmission path, based on whether the total amount of data volume meets or exceeds a first threshold.

  • Patent number: 10251100
Abstract: A method performed by a source network node for handover of a wireless communication device in a first wireless communications network using a first RAT is provided. The handover is to be performed from the source network node to a target network node. The wireless communication device is configured to communicate with the source network node directly and to communicate with the source network node via a radio access node in a second wireless communications network using a second RAT. The source network node provides (401) the target network node with information about parameters relating to a communication between the wireless communication device and the source network node via the radio access node. The source network node receives (402) a feedback from the target network node. The feedback comprises an indication of whether or not the radio access node was able to keep a context of the wireless communication device in the second wireless communications network.

  • Publication number: 20190059039
Abstract: A method may be provided to operate a CU node that is coupled with first and second DU nodes. Communication is provided between the CU node and a mobile communication device through the first DU node over a first radio link. A message is received at the CU node from the first DU node that the radio link is temporarily unavailable. Responsive to receiving the message, communication between the CU node and the mobile communication device through the first DU node is suspended, wherein configuration of the first DU node to serve the mobile communication device using the first radio link is maintained. While suspending communication between the CU node and the mobile communication device through the first DU node, communication may be provided between the CU node and the mobile communication device through the second DU node over a second radio link.
