  • Publication number: 20200252854
Abstract: According to an exemplary embodiment a method may be provided to operate a central unit, CU, node that is coupled with first and second distributed unit, DU, nodes. Communication is provided between the CU node and a mobile communication device through the first DU node over a first radio link between the first DU node and the mobile communication device. A message is received from the first DU node informing the CU node that the radio link is temporarily unavailable. Responsive to receiving the message, communication through the first DU node is suspended, wherein configuration of the first DU node to serve the mobile communication device using the first radio link is maintained. While suspending communication through the first DU node, communication may be provided through the second DU node over a second radio link between the second DU node and the mobile communication device.

Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method in a wireless device includes transmitting a protocol data unit (PDU) or segment of a PDU on a first link and transmitting the PDU or the segment of the PDU on a second link. One or more retransmissions of the PDU or the segment of the PDU are scheduled on the second link. A positive acknowledgment is received from a receiver. The positive acknowledgement indicates a successful receipt of the PDU or the segment of the PDU on the first link. In response to receiving the positive acknowledgement, the one or more retransmissions of the PUU or the segment of the PDU on the second link are cancelled.

  • Publication number: 20200187243
Abstract: A communication device receives an uplink grant from a node of a cellular network. The uplink grant indicates uplink radio resources allocated to the communication device in reoccurring time intervals. For each of these time intervals, the communication device selects between an active mode and an inactive mode, in the active mode the communication device performs an uplink transmission in the allocated uplink radio resources. In the inactive mode the communication device performs no uplink transmission in the allocated uplink radio resources.

  • Patent number: 10673729
Abstract: An interference-based metric is used for control purposes in a cellular network, e.g., for controlling association of a user equipment to a cell of the cellular network. The metric is defined as a ratio of a first value and a second value. The first value represents the strength of a reference signal (RS) transmitted by a base station of the cell as measured by the user equipment. The second value represents the strength of interference (IF) at the user equipment. Depending on the metric, a radio access configuration for the user equipment and the cell is controlled. This may for example involve association of the user equipment to the cell, e.g., in the course of a handover process or idle mode cell selection process.

  • Patent number: 10667160
Abstract: A method performed by a wireless communications device for measurement reporting associated with a first wireless communications network to a network node operating in a second wireless communications network. The first and second wireless communications networks operate according to different RATs. The wireless communications device receives an indication of one or more radio access network nodes operating in the first wireless communications network, among which one or more radio access network nodes a mobility of the wireless communications device is restricted. The wireless communications device further determines which radio access network nodes operating in the first wireless communications network are to be used for measurement reporting to the network node, based on the indication of the one or more radio access network nodes among which the mobility of the wireless communications device is restricted in the first wireless communications network.

  • Patent number: 10631175
Abstract: A plurality of mobile robots provide a radio coverage area of a wireless communication network. Each mobile robot comprises a radio base station of the wireless communication network. A mobile robot of the plurality of mobile robots moves to a geographical position to deploy as part of a daisy chain loop of the mobile robots upon receiving instruction from a maintenance base. Upon receiving further instruction from the maintenance base, the mobile robot moves to a further geographical position as part of a circular shift operation performed by the mobile robots deployed to the daisy chain loop to maintain the radio coverage area and send a further mobile robot of the mobile robots deployed to the daisy chain loop to the maintenance base.

  • Publication number: 20200119977
Abstract: A user equipment starts a first timer in response to detecting a physical layer problem with a radio link between the user equipment and a node of a cellular network. Responsive to detecting a handover measurement event, the user equipment also starts a second timer and sends a measurement report to the node. The starting of the first and second timers causes the first and second timers to simultaneously elapse. Responsive to one of the simultaneously elapsing timers expiring, the user equipment sends a radio link failure report, to the node, indicating which of the simultaneously elapsing timers expired.

  • Publication number: 20200119883
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a transmitting device (120) for handling communication in a wireless communications network, wherein the transmitting device (120) comprises at least two radio link control, RLC, entities and is configured with a split bearer to a receiving device (100). The transmitting device (120) identifies that a last transmitted protocol data unit, PDU, of one of the at least two RLC entities, is lacking a poll indicator requesting a status of one or more transmitted PDUs. When identifying that the last transmitted PDU lacks the poll indicator, the transmitting device transmits to the receiving device (100), a PDU comprising a poll indicator.

  • Publication number: 20200067647
Abstract: A method for retransmission of uplink transmissions, performed by a wireless device with configured uplink grants. The method comprises transmitting a first transmission to a network node with a redundancy version (RV). The wireless device then determines to retransmit the first transmission, and retransmits the first transmission with a retransmission RV based on the type of retransmission. For a non-adaptive retransmission, the retransmission RV value is the same as the RV of the first retransmission. For an adaptive retransmission, the retransmission RV is the RV value received in a retransmission grant.
