The vehicle remote controller includes a portable device carried by a driver and a transceiver (11) arranged in the vehicle to output a request signal for intercommunicating with the portable device and to output a transponder driving radio wave. The transceiver outputs the request signal to either a first area, which is in a vehicle passenger compartment, or an area outside the vehicle, and has a common antenna (14) for outputting the transponder driving radio wave to a second area, which is in the vehicle passenger compartment.

Abstract: A starter controller for preventing a starter motor from being driven when a steering device is locked. The starter controller supplies the starter motor with power from a power supply when both a starter enablement signal, for enabling the starter motor to be driven, and an unlock signal, for indicating that the steering wheel is unlocked, are received.

Abstract: To achieve the above objects, a communication apparatus for forming and outputting image data on the basis of data received via a network analyzes the contents of received electronic mail and extracts binary data encoded using character codes. The communication apparatus converts the extracted binary data into image data and outputs the data. The communication apparatus requests, where necessary, a server apparatus on the network to convert the binary data into the image data. If the conversion from the binary data into the image data is impossible, the communication apparatus reports this information to the source of the electronic mail in the same session as the electronic mail. The communication apparatus also generates a message from the reported information and transmits the message as electronic mail in a session other than the electronic mail.

Abstract: A door lock mechanism includes a lock claw, a spring attached to the lock claw for urging the same in a direction toward a lock state, a lock release operation piece linked to the lock claw for moving the lock claw in a direction toward a lock release state against a force of the spring when a lock release operation is performed, and a damping device for applying a damping force to the lock claw when the lock release operation is canceled. The lock release operation piece returns the lock claw to the lock state with the force when the lock release operation is canceled. The lock release operation piece is arranged to be separated from the lock claw when the lock claw returns from the lock release state to the lock state with an external force applied to the lock claw.

Abstract: An electric cutoff circuit for preventing overheating of a load. The current shutoff circuit includes an FET connected to a motor circuit. A relay fault detection circuit is connected to the motor circuit to detect potential at the motor circuit. A CPU sends a control signal to a relay. The CPU determines whether a fault has occurred in the relay based on the control signal sent to the relay and the detection of the relay fault detection circuit. When determining that a fault has occurred in the relay, the CPU opens the FET to configure an open circuit with the motor circuit.

Abstract: Disclosed is an Internet FAX apparatus which, after receiving an Internet address from a certain destination, can communicate with the same destination in later transmission or during communication by connecting to a LAN and switching to an Internet FAX mode requiring no communication charge. An Internet facsimile apparatus on the receiving side transmits its Internet facsimile function and Internet address on an NSF signal in a standard protocol of G3 facsimile transmission and/or transmits its telephone number, Internet facsimile function, and Internet address on TSI and NSS signals in the standard protocol of G3 facsimile communication. The Internet facsimile apparatus registers an Internet facsimile function and Internet address of a partner apparatus as destination data.

Abstract: An engine start controller shortens the time required from when an operation switch is operated to when an engine is started. The engine start controller controls starting of the engine of a vehicle and power supply to an electric device system. A control unit selectively locks the steering shaft of the vehicle and performs authentication with a portable device, which is carried by a user of the vehicle, for permitting use of the vehicle. An operation switch is connected to the control unit and generates an operation signal when operated by the user. The control unit unlocks the steering shaft in parallel with supplying power to the electric device system when the operation signal is generated and use of the vehicle is permitted through the authentication.

Abstract: A system for controlling starting and stopping of an engine that prevents a user from erroneously determining that the system is not functioning properly. The system includes an electronic key that may be inserted in a socket. The key selectively transmits a key ID code and a key transponder code to the vehicle. A microcomputer installed in the vehicle checks whether the key ID code matches a vehicle ID code when the key is arranged in the vehicle and checks whether the key transponder code matches a vehicle transponder code when the key is inserted in the socket. The microcomputer enables the starting of the engine and selectively interlocks the key inserted in the socket in accordance with the checking results. First and second display lamps notify the user whether the key is removable from the socket in accordance with the operation of the microcomputer.

Abstract: An image communication system including electronic-mail apparatuses each having a function to add image-file processing information to an image file attached to an electronic mail. The image processing capability of each apparatus is examined in advance. In a transmitting-side apparatus, an image file is generated in accordance with the capability, and an electronic mail, to which the image file is attached, is transmitted to a receiving-side apparatus. Further, if the image file attached to the transmitted electronic mail cannot be processed by the receiving-side apparatus, the receiving-side apparatus notifies the transmitting-side apparatus of clarified cause of,processing failure, further, transmits its image-file processing capability and the unprocessed transmitted electronic mail to the transmitting-side apparatus. Thus, efficient image-file transmission/reception can be performed.

Abstract: A switch for urging a driver to perform an operation that is required when the smart ignition function is invalid. The switch is used by a driver to start the engine of a vehicle when the vehicle communicates with a portable device to verify the portable device. The portable device has an end portion. The switch includes a push button pushed by the driver. The push button includes a guide portion engaged with the end portion of the portable device.

Abstract: A straight rod form discharge electrode used in a wire bonding apparatus. The electrode core material is covered, except for its tip end, by an alumina film that has been subjected to a pore sealing treatment. The alumina film subjected to the pore sealing treatment is formed by a two-stage process. In the first-stage, an alumina film having a porous structure is formed on the surface of the electrode core material for the thickness of approximately 6 &mgr;m by plasma flame coating method or anodic oxidation method; and in the second-stage, the porous structure is subjected to a pore sealing treatment in which an alumina film is caused to adhere to the porous structure by laser PVD or a pore sealing treatment is performed with a resin.

Abstract: A start control apparatus has a steering lock mechanism, which includes a lock pin and a lock control unit. The lock pin is selectively engaged and disengaged from the steering shaft. The lock control unit controls the lock pin. The start control apparatus further includes a portable communication device, a verification control unit, which communicates with the portable communication device, a power source control unit, which control power supply, an engine control unit, which controls the engine, a lock state detecting switch, which detects an engaged state and a disengaged state of the lock pin. The lock control unit and the power source control unit monitor detection signals from the lock state detecting switch. The engine is permitted to be started on condition that the control units acknowledge that the lock bar is in the disengaged state.

A tape-shaped compressive bandage section has a first surface, a second surface opposing to the first surface, a first through hole and a second through hole each connecting the first surface and the second surface. The bandage section is adapted to be wound around a living tissue such that the first surface is brought into contact with the living tissue. A light emitter emits light toward a living tissue. The light emitter detachably attached on a first position of the second surface such that the light passes through the first through hole. A light receiver receives the light which has been emitted from the light emitter and transmitted through the living tissue. The light receiver detachably attached on a second position of the second surface such that the light passes through the second through hole.

In case the number of actually transmitted pages is different from the number of read or received pages stored in the second RAM, the user can select in advance, by a key depression on a keyboard, whether to record both the number of actually transmitted pages and the number of read or received pages stored in the second RAM or to record either one of the numbers, as the number of pages to be recorded on the transmission result list.
