  • Publication number: 20050051102
Abstract: A thermal processing apparatus (1) comprises a chamber body (6) having an upper opening (60), a transparent plate attached to the upper opening (60) to close the upper opening (60), a holding part (7) for holding and heating a substrate in the inside of the chamber body (6) and a holding-part moving mechanism (4) for moving the holding part (7) up and down. In performing maintenance of the thermal processing apparatus (1), the transparent plate is removed from the chamber body (6) and then the holding part (7) is moved by the holding-part moving mechanism (4) up to a position where a lower surface (77) of the holding part (7) is higher than an upper surface (69) of an edge of the upper opening (60). This allows maintenance for the inside of the chamber body (6) from a gap (601) between the holding part (7) and the chamber body (6) without removing the holding part (7) from the chamber body (6).

  • Publication number: 20040168907
Abstract: A sintered body comprising 95 Wt % or more germanium and tungsten. The sputtering is executed by using sintered body as a target, thereby forming a resistance film to a spacer of an image forming apparatus using electron beam emitting devices and the like. Thus, the resistance film having excellent controllability and high reproducibility can be stably formed.

  • Patent number: 6179590
Abstract: A scroll mounting member for mounting a drive scroll therein is secured to the left end of a drive shaft coupled to a motor. A rotary bearing is fitted on the outer periphery of the scroll mounting member, and its outer periphery is secured to a scroll housing. The scroll mounting member is disposed for rotation in the scroll housing and is secured to the drive shaft. A bearing retainer for holding the rotary bearing is mounted by bolts via a spring in a mounting portion of the scroll housing. The rotary bearing is adjustable in the thrust direction at the scroll housing. By turning bolts, the rotary bearing is either advanced in the thrust direction via the bearing retainer or retreated, via the bearing retainer and a spring, which, together with the bolts, form an adjusting device. A self-lubricating sleeve seal is axially slidably fitted in an end portion of a driven scroll mounting member.

  • Patent number: 5755210
Abstract: In a fuel discharge preventive device of a gas engine, in order to prevent high-pressure gaseous fuel remaining in a fuel distributing pipe when an engine is stopped, from leaking out of a gaseous fuel injection valve to be discharged to the open air, a fuel shut-off valve is provided in a fuel feed passage through which gaseous fuel is fed to the gaseous fuel injection valve, and a suction passage communicating with a gaseous fuel storing portion is branched off from the fuel feed passage between the gaseous fuel injection valve and the fuel shut-off valve, so that the gaseous fuel in a potion of the fuel feed passage located between the gaseous fuel injection valve and the fuel shut-off valve is stored in the gaseous fuel storing portion after the engine is stopped and hence the fuel shut-off valve is closed, while the stored fuel is purged to the engine when the engine is being operated.

  • Patent number: 5743258
Abstract: A pharyngeal airway tube, without inserting any foreign matters in the trachea (T), can be easily inserted through the oral cavity (O) in the lower pharynx (P), and is capable of hermetically sealing a transitional region from the lower pharynx to the esophagus (E) and the periphery of the laryngeal opening (AL) to secure an airway for positive pressure artificial ventilation. The pharyngeal airway comprises an airway tube (1) having a closed, round distal end and provided in its side wall with ventilating holes (2), and a balloon (3) attached to the edge of the ventilating part and around the ventilating part of the airway tube and capable of being inflated so as to surround a part of the airway tube near the distal end of the same. A small bore gas passage (4) is formed in the wall of the airway tube so as to open into the balloon, and a small bore tube (5) fitted with a connector (7) is connected to the proximal end of the gas passage.

  • Patent number: 5701867
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the idling speed of an engine is disclosed. An idling speed control valve disposed in an idle passage communicates with the intake passage downstream and upstream of the throttle valve to control the amount of the airflow supplied to the idling engine. A neutral start switch outputs an instruction signal to an ECU based on a switching operation of a shift lever from its neutral range to a drive range. Based on the instruction signal, the ECU computes a duty factor to increase the airflow amount through the idle speed control valve to a predetermined amount. The increased airflow amount is subsequently attenuated to a predetermined magnitude with an attenuation factor based on a change rate of the engine speed.

  • Patent number: 5596582
Abstract: In a receiver for an OFDM modulated transmission signal including at least one synchronizing symbol in each frame, the synchronizing symbol is located by stepwise shifting a window along a reception sample sequence to make a cross-correlation calculator (55) calculate cross-correlation values between a stored pattern produced from a pattern memory (53) and sequence portions picked up by the window, a maximum selector (57, 59) select two successive maxima of the cross-correlation values at a time interval substantially equal to a frame period, and a controllable clock generator (61-65) generate a clock sequence at the time interval for use in sampling the sample sequence. On a transmitter side, the at least one synchronizing symbol may either be preceded by a null period or be a main synchronizing symbol preceded by an auxiliary synchronizing symbol for use in roughly defining ranges in which the window should be shifted.

  • Patent number: 5562151
Abstract: Apparatus and method of producing a thin metal ribbon by pouring a molten metal onto the surface of a quench roll rotating at a high speed so as to rapidly cool and solidify the metal to form the ribbon, separating the ribbon from the quench roll and conveying the same to a take-up device. A compressed gas is blown tangent to the quench roll to separate the ribbon from the quench roll. The separated ribbon is sucked and caught by a suction conveyor which runs at a velocity greater than the speed of production of the thin meal ribbon thereby imparting tension to the ribbon.

  • Patent number: 5524157
Abstract: An optical fiber coupler in which portions in the lengthwise direction of a plurality of optical fibers whose surface is coated with a carbon film are welded to each other and extended to form a connected portion, and the connected portion is not coated with a carbon film. This coupler is manufactured by arranging in parallel a plurality of optical fibers whose surface is coated with a carbon film so that the portions which are to form a connected portion are brought into contact with each other, and by heating the portions which are to form a connected portion in an atmosphere containing oxygen to join these portions by welding while extending the optical fibers. This optical fiber coupler has high hydrogen resistance and static fatigue strength. Also, the use of this coupler provides a small-sized system as a whole without degrading the optical characteristics.

  • Patent number: 5499673
Abstract: A continuous thin metal strip formed by quenching on a single quenching roll is separated from the quenching roll and conveyed along a fly path to a coiling system directly or via pinch rolls. The path along which the thin metal strip flies is stabilized by a jet of a fluid jetted from a slit and biased to flow along a convex curved surface, whereby the time until the strip is taken up or nipped by the pinch rolls is shortened.
