  • Patent number: 5323188
Abstract: In a DPCM predictive encoder (or performing DPCM prediction by digitizing a NTSC color television signal with a rate three times of a color sub-carrier frequency, a two-frame predictor which outputs a differential signal over two frames is employed as one of predictors. A predictor switcher adaptively selects one of prediction information as an optimal prediction signal and selects corresponding differential information as an optimal differential signal. This differential signal is quantized by a quantizer. The quantized output and the optimal prediction signal are summed by an adder and supplied to the predictors as a local decoding signal.

  • Patent number: 5274681
Abstract: A coded image signal is received and stored into a first-in-first-out memory on a bit-parallel word basis and the storage level of the memory is compared with high, medium and low threshold values. A first positive trimming value is generated when the storage level is higher than the high threshold, a second positive trimming value when it lies between the high and medium thresholds, a first negative trimming value when it is lower than the low threshold, and a second negative trimming value when it lies between the low and medium thresholds. Differential sampling clock rate is received and combined with each trimming value in an adder whose output is subtractively combined with a frequency variation of the line clock rate to produce a corrected differential sampling and line clock rate. The latter is integrated to produce a frequency control signal that drives a voltage-controlled oscillator whose output is used to drive the memory for reading the coded image signal on a bit-parallel word basis.

  • Patent number: 5199399
Abstract: A system and method for controlling an engine idling speed for an internal combustion engine associated with an electro-continuously variable transmission are disclosed in which when an accelerator pedal is released to carry out an abrupt deceleration of the vehicle during the vehicle run with the transmission gear ratio in a second, third, or overdrive range, an engine fuel is instantaneously supplied in an asynchronous fuel injection mode so that the engine idling speed is temporarily increased and an oil pump revolution speed for changing the gear ratio is increased.

  • Patent number: 5063443
Abstract: In a predictive encoder device supplied with an input image signal divisible into odd and even number line signals, first and second predictive encoders (32, 37) individually carry out predictive encoding of the odd and the even number line signals into first and second encoded signals at a comparatively low speed by the use of first and second local decoded signals, respectively. The first and the second local decoded signals are supplied to the second and the first predictive encoders through delay circuits (42, 43), respectively, to predict a current picture element with reference to picture elements located on adjacent lines. Two delay circuits (36, 44) are connected to an output terminal (32c) of the first predictive encoder and to an input terminal (37a) of the second predictive encoder to adjust timings of the first and the second encoded signals. A predictive decoder device also comprises first and second predictive decoders (62, 83) corresponding to the first and the second predictive encoders.

  • Patent number: 4729022
Abstract: In a multiplexing system wherein data from a plurality of terminal units are multiplexed in time slots shared to the terminal units and coded picture data are multiplexed at least in time slots shared for picture, there are provided picture signal encoding means operating at a clock frequency independent of a clock frequency for a transmission path, a buffer memory circuit for storing the coded picture data outputted from the picture signal encoding means, a data detecting circuit for detecting presence or absence of output data from the plurality of terminal units and a multiplexing circuit which shares coded picture data read out from the buffer memory circuit to a time slot or time slots of terminal units whose output data are not detected by the data detecting circuit and which shares, to time slots of terminal unit whose output data are detected by the data detecting circuit, output data of these terminal units, thereby adaptively sharing coded picture data to the time slots for the terminal units.
