  • Patent number: 5251078
Abstract: In the tape position detecting device, the relative position data and absolute position data of the reference points are stored, and with respect to an arbitrary point, the first tape position data is detected by using the relative position data. The tape movement data from a reference point to the arbitrary point which is obtained using the absolute position data is added to the absolute position data of the reference point to detect the second tape position data. Depending on the difference between the first and second tape position data, the first or second tape position data is transmitted as the tape position data output. Hence, with the tape position detecting device, the tape position data can be detected much more accurately than with the conventional device in which it is detected by using the relative position data or absolute position data only.

  • Patent number: 5224643
Abstract: In a tape guide system having a tape guide device for guiding a magnetic tape in a video tape recorder or the like and which comprises a tape guide and an ultrasonic vibrator fixed to the tape guide for vibrating the tape guide with a standing wave, a drive device supplies a drive signal to the ultrasonic vibrator, and a temperature compensating circuit is provided for effecting temperature compensation of the drive signal supplied from the driver device to the ultrasonic vibrator.

  • Patent number: 5218490
Abstract: In a video tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus, a tape tension servo-system detects tape tension between a supply reel propelled by a voltage driven motor and the head drum to provide a corresponding detected tension signal supplied to a processor which is periodically interrupted for providing a control signal proportional to any deviation of the detected tape tension from a desired value and further for providing differential and integral control signals determined from the proportional control signal at successive interruptions and which are combined to form a control voltage signal for the supply reel motor. The processor is desirably constituted by a universal pulse processor and a central processing unit. The tape tension is detected by an angularly movable arm carrying a post about which the tape is wrapped sufficiently to ensure good compliance.

  • Patent number: 5105317
Abstract: A cassette loading apparatus for a video tape recorder includes a cabinet having a cassette insertion opening therein which is adapted to insertably receive a video tape cassette, and a lid mounted on the cabinet for movement between a first position, wherein the cassette insertion opening is closed, and a second position, wherein the cassette insertion opening is open. A cassette holder is adapted to accept and hold a cassette inserted therein and is movable between a cassette insertion position, which is adjacent to the cassette insertion opening, and a cassette operation position, spaced rearwardly and downwardly from the cassette insertion position. A cassette holder driving mechanism is provided to move the cassette holder between the cassette insertion position and the cassette operation position.

  • Patent number: 4917326
Abstract: In a winder, a cover is provided at a portion of the winder where fluff is very likely to occur; that is, the portion is the position of a yarn feed bobbin, and the cover operates to cover this portion, thereby enclosing the fluff therein, and a suction pipe is connected to a part of the cover to discharge the fluff by suction.

  • Patent number: 4901166
Abstract: A method and apparatus for editing video information from one or more video tapes onto a master tape, in which different video tape recorders can be used to produce the master tape, involves the storage of tracking information that was used in recording a segment at a position immediately preceding the desired editing point on the master tape, and also stores tracking information that was used in recording another segment at a position on the master tape some time prior to the segment next preceding the edit point. A difference value between the two stored tracking information signals is detected and compared with a predetermined value, and the comparison result is used to select one of the two stored tracking information signals to control the tracking during recording at the desired editing point, so that small head position detector errors will not accumulate over a number of edit points on the master tape.
